Automatic transmission only shifts at 3500 rmp

Hi everyone I'm new to the community, I just got an 1988 GXL that was stored for 30 years. Now I got it running but it feels like the car has no power/acceleration. When I go full throttle, the car seems to accelerate slowly and it shifts only at 3500rpm. Also when the car is idling it kind of wants to stall. I've seen threads about limp mode but if I understand it only occurs with S5 RX7. Thank you so much for anyone trying to help me.

Does the car rev smoothly all the way in neutral? Is the gas new?

I'm not an expert on AT's, although I have rebuilt a few many years ago. The AT shifts based on engine speed and load as a result of engine vacuum. On older AT's, when the vacuum line running to the transmission is disconnected it shifts at a unreasonably high RPM. So, as a first step, I would suggest to check the engine to transmission vacuum hose connection and possibly the transmission's vacuum modulator (https://www.atkinsrotary.com/Transmi...07-19-823.html).
