Automatic Tranny Disposal

I saw that Molo sawz-alled one of his cars for $73 in scrap. I have the a/t in the shed from the 90 vert. I can't believe there are many folks looking to do a m/t to a/t swap so what's the best way to dispose of the tranny?

can you get any money for the metal or is it just disposal?

i remember when we lived in oregon the meth heads were stealing guard rails to sell for scrap.

you get the satisfaction that you were responsible and disposed of it properly- but seriously you might get a few bucks but nothing to get excited about.

if you have a transmission shop near you give it to them, might be good to them for some parts

You can scrap it, but you wont get much if left as is. "Dirty" metal (ferrous and non-ferrous mixed) pays for ****, if you tear it down and separate the metals you will get a lot more. Clean aluminum around here pays about 60 cents a pound IIRC.
