Question ATF and flooding

Why do we put ATF fluid in the leading plug holes when the car floods? Someone asked me today and i had no idea

ATF is thicker than gas. It is used to build compression when the engine is all "gassed up" and reluctant to catch becuase the gas has soaked the engine so much.

Some of us prefer just injecting oil instead of ATF>
