I searched but most threads end with either a dead end or pics that don't work so i can't make a good decision.
Will it work to unstick apex seals? What about the alternatives? Or should i just open it up? Kinda don't want to but if i have no choice.....

well, honestly at this point,if the seals are stuck, try it.
you have nothing to lose and if it does unstick them it saves you from opening it up,doesn't it?

Just use something designed to remove carbon, like carb cleaner. Check the can to make sure it is rubber safe.

Diesel fuel also works very well.
