FD rear calipers on FC brackets?

Sorry to make another "Do FD brakes fit an FC" thread....

all the ones I've seen seem to be dealing with rotors...

I just want to know if an FD rear caliper (larger piston) will fit on an FC rear caliper bracket. and are the parking brakes similar?

anyone know?

HIGGI ran 2 front calipers on the back rotor on his drift car That's the only thing I remember.

I went to NAPA on Saturday, they said FD calipers are back ordered until who knows when... mazda no longer sells them... Advance auto doesn't sell them

I'm going to have to order a pair from rockauto.

Wow... even rock auto barely had a pair... I think I got the last rear right they had. Maybe this isn't a good idea....

so... calipers arrived today and I probably should have actually looked at pictures first *sigh*

the way they mount into the brackets is totally different.

The FD uses weird bolt/pins that screw into the caliper and and the dust boots are in the bracket. it's probably the weirdest caliper design I've ever seen.

the FC is slightly more normal, it has one pin sticking out of the bracket and the other slider along with the dust boost are mounted on the caliper...

FD caliper no bracket

FD caliper with bracket:

FC no bracket:

FC w/ bracket:

not going to work...

Out of curiosity how much larger is the piston on the FD caliper?

The front calipers on both FC and FD have the same diameter pistons, right?

the rears are 35mm instead of 33mm.

so the area (what matters) is 962mm^2 vs 855mm^2 which is actually significant.
