Anyone keep breaking Diff mounts ?

hey guys

Well just wondering what everyone's luck is like with S4 diff mounts ??
Ive got about 250 Rwhp and 13.5 quarter on stock tires but in the last 2 times Ive been to the drags Ive busted my diff mount to where the rubber in the mount has ripped so to speak .....

Ive been told by my machanic its a really common thing for S4's and that I will have ot just get it replaced (again)

Ive had Ideas of solid diff mounts (but told I will just do more dammage else where in the drive train) and also replacing the rubber with noeprene (spelling ?) but told is to costly.... so dont know what my options are.

Thanks for any advice

-Anth

ps, my 60-1 will be all finished by this weekend Woot!!

I've broken three in 4 years. After the last one, I installed a torque brace on the engine and haven't broken one since. If I do, I have learned that Mazdatrix has a competition upgrade available.

A friend of mine was having the same issue with his. He welded it also and that resolved the problem until he wrecked it.

If you have a lot of wheel hop, that will do it every time especially if you're ruuning hard compound tires. If you go to the tracks a lot, you could do 2 things.
First is install stiffer diff mounts and second is install a rubber snubber that goes between the diff and body and that will limit the twist when you get wheel hop.

I know a lot of guys hate the whole engine swap thing, but on Torquecentral there is a short writeup with pics. You don't have to change your engine to check it out

more common to bust front diff mount if the engine mounts and tranny mounts are bad as well.

Also are you replacing the front diff mount with new ones, or junkyard ones. If you are using junkyard ones you get what you pay for.
