Angry Any Help will be Appreciated

Just brought a 88 Convertiable. Ran great for a few days then all of a suddenly the engine kept stalling.

Here are my problems:
1. Idle inconsistance from 1500RPM to 2000RPM.
2. Stalled at stop light.
3. After it stalled, not able to start engine again.

Does anyone knows why the engine stalled when I come to a stop light? Test and cleaned the BAC but the problem still persist. ECU is fine. What else could be wrong?

Anyone help would be appreciated from anyone.

Another problem, no power at first gear or second gear and 3rd and 4th gear are even worst. Guess I have my handful on this one.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Do you smell gas at all?

If your lacking power thorughout your gears, get a compression test. If your compression is fine, start to look for vaccum leaks, MAS, TPS, and injectors, are all common problems on the rex's.............

That's just a start, let us know what happens.

You got it man, once the compression starts to go, you'll need to replace the internal seals, and if the rotors and housings are badly worn, an entire rebuild may be inevitable.......

But get it checked, hopefully it's not too bad, and you can get away driving it for a bit. Save up some money and get a good shop to rebuild it for you. After all, you get what you pay for.................

At the very least try to be positive, and hopefully it's something a little minor.

you could have developed a SERIOUS vaccume leak. After doing some cleaning on my car I put all the stuff back on and I went to school but at all the lights I could not keep the thing alive. Get to school and pop the hood I see one of the nuts on the black elbow that goes to the TB on the UIM and the elbo is like three MM away from the TB. I tightened it up and No more stalling. check all your hoses and connections.

Pull it yourself! and MAKE SURE that that's what you need, man! Get the compression tested, by someone who knows what they're doing, so you can be sure. Pointless spending rivers of cash when only drops will do!

Check the compression before you go pulling the motor.

How many miles on the motor/injectors?

Have you done a tune up?

The 1988 conv I owned have ~123k miles. The injectors probably were never replace...(don't really know). Installed new NGK plugs, new wires...and oil change after the ATF procedure.

Anyhow, after I were able to start the engine the next day it wouldn't start again. Could it be the injector is bad? TPS replaced and check...BAC valve clean in working condition. During the time the engine was running. I couldn't get the it to idle at 750rpm. It stalled around there. So I adjusted the around to aroune 1500rpm and test drove it. Funny this thing was it stalled after I down shift and come slowly to a stop. I then adjust the dashpot it that problem went away but I just can't live with the idle being at 1500rpm.

I about had it with this crap. Anyone wanna take the pain away? I must of plent my the whole week on this crap.

Thanks for all your inputs
