you can find an antennas at auto zone. They have a couple different kinds. But while we are on the subject, mine antenna crapped out also. If anyone has a parts 7 that has an antenna that would fit my 87 n/a, please PM me or post. Thanks.

if you buy an aftermarket power antenna, dont forget about the stupid negative activation of the stock antenna! you have to use a relay to change the - to + feed for the power antenna. write up for it somewhere.

Or you could get a 10 dollar manual antenna that will never break.

Manual antenna is the way to go. I just want a thicker one like the stock one. Not a skinny one that look like crap

I bought a replacement power antenna for my 87 last year at Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com). Can get in black or chrome. Not too hard to install, looks good and works well (plus, if you screw up, you can call Crutchfield for free technical advice).

Also, you don't need an aftermarket relay to actuate the automatic up and down when you turn the radio on or off; once I figured out the right wire from the harness to connect, it worked just fine. When you take out the old antenna, it's easiest just to cut that harness, then solder the appropriate wires to the new antenna leads.
