Do you have an upgraded ecu or bigger injectors for more fuel? I'm boosting 12lbs. on stock turbo/intercooler but I have an Rtek 1.7, 720 secondaries, and H20 mister for my intercooler that kicks in at 8lbs. If you are running completely stock and just want to jack up your boost with a manual boost controller I wouldn't go past 10lbs. Also, do you have an upgraded exhaust or better TID?

NO!! NOT TEN!!! you'll probably notice its hitting fuel cut as is if you have a full exhaust, its there to keep you from blowing your engine, you cant just go turning up the boost, your engine will DIE. you need more fuel and someway to control it before you can go cranking up more boost.

The stock turbo can hit 16+ psi. However after 12psi the efficiency drops off hard and it starts blowing too much hot air. You must have the proper supporting mods if you plan on boosting the stock turbo that high. Injectors, ems\piggyback, IC and maybe H2O injection to keep it "safe" at those boost levels with the stock turbo. I have read about people pushing 19psi on the stock turbo and I think that is just an insanley dumb idea.

One of the reasons why big single upgrades are so great for higher PSI is because they don't heat up the air as much as the smaller turbo that has to work so much harder to pump out that much air.

the engine thresh hold is 16-18 psi thats if your engine is not cryotreated. if you send your engine to sprredmachineperformance.com they can cryotreat your engine internals and have it prepped for 30psi

that was a random post, if hes on stock turbo and a fairly stock setup over all i doubt that a cryo treated (whole debate there alone) 30psi preped engine is in the budget. sounds more like a speedmachine sales pitch than help....

anyway yes 12psi is the usefull limit.

do you have an upgraded fuel system? the fuel cut is a safety measure to keep your engine from blowing up, by removing it you've created a ticking time bomb unless you've upgraded the fuel system.

SAFC or rtek or something to tune, you cant just put on bigger injectors and expect the ECU to compensate for all the changes you're making.
