Am I too tall for this racing seat?

I just got the cobra imola seat off someone else for a decent price.

But my problem is, my head hits the top of the seat.
Which is fine if im just relaxing, but what if I get in a wreck or sudden stop. That is going to hurt as there is no padding on that edge.

And are there such things as head padding, I'd rather not invest in the 2200 dollar seets with the head harness..

Thanks.

Lol, it seems all this saftey equipment i'm looking into investing in, has to have additional saftey equipment to protect you from the original saftey equipment.

I think he knows this is for my ride is for racing purposes which requires a helmet.

But I'm also, seeming hopelessly, trying to keep it streetable.

Okay. I'm just gonna solve my own problem here..

Think I'm just going to superglue some shock absorbent padding under the cloth. It just seems like a ghetto fix.

You nailed it.

You should be able to keep it streetable (or at least easily converted between street/track) if you race in one of the lower-level classes and don't care about being competitive.

I'm not sure if the padding would be legal in a given race class, so you may want to check on that unless you make it easily removable. You can get headrest padding from various vendors. Example:
http://www.rollbarpadding.com/home.html

If you do not feel safe in the seat, I recommend just getting a different seat... but try it out before you buy it.
