alternator?

I purchased a s4 tii alternator online and when I recieved it my first thought was fd. It has the serpentine pulley on it. But the connector is just like the s5 one thats on the back and not the side. Is there a way to tell by the part # or something?

Also the pulley shaft was larger than my s4 tii one along with the bottom two brackets being farther apart. Mine had a spacer on it and this one needs about 3 of them.

sounds like an FD alt, it also sounds like you got a deal, as a lot of people upgrade to the FD alt. you will have to bore out the center of the pulley for your s4. I thought it may be an FC pulley with a serpentine belt kit but the fact that it has a bigger shaft screams FD. I could be wrong as i don't have pics and i am not by any means an expert.

Yea thats what I thought, but the connector is on the back rather than on the side.

My FD alternator upgrade has connector on the back. Got it from Silverotor with a double pulley.

So am I supposed to use two of them spacers for the bottom then because the gap is larger than mine.

If the S connector on the back, then it's a s5 Turbo 2 alternator I believe, not the FD. Maybe the guy who had it previously switched his pulley's for some reason?

So is it the upgraded one then? That would be cool. The description was 87 tii alternator which it wasn't the same as the picture, but just wanted to find out.
