airpump??

Question airpump??

as i got my new engine , the airpump was ceased up it wouldnt turn freely , Thing is the air pump is an Emission pump for emissions , Were i live at we dont have emission testing , so i wasnt plannin on getting a new one , It wont affect anything will it?? i mean ive seen a bunch of rotarys without them so i figure it wont affect nothing besides emissions . Also What Parts or emission things DONT i need on the engine that wont affect the way it runs , and does anybody know anywhere or website where i can get Replacement parts like my sunroof sealant , hinges , uhh interior parts , CARPET things like that , and an overhaul gasket seals kit ...............thanks

If you remove the airpump, you will need to replace the cats with a straight pipe and then figure out how to activate your 5th and 6th ports since you may not have enough backpressure.

My advice? Just replace the pump. They are VERY CHEAP to buy. You can then decide if you want to open the can of worms that is removing the pump.

I see from your profile you have a TII, so the air pump is only to assist the cat.
If you pull the pump, then remove the cat also.
Most turbo owners in FL replace the pre-cat and main cat with a "downpipe", and get more boost as a bonus.

Oops...If you have a TII, disregard the 5tha dn 6th port stuff. Only applies to NAs.

i took my air pump off my 88 n/a with no problem ...5th and 6th ports still working ...and i still have the cats ..

if u still have a cat on there without the air pump i believe the cat will clog up
