Yes and no. It depends if you have a turbo or not. The S4 turbos only have 4 ports so it does not effect anything but the catalytic converter. On the non-turbos (NA) it would affect the 5th and 6th ports plus the catalytic converter if the pump was removed.

No. The air pump does not apply pressure the 6PI system (5th and 6th port) in the S4 NA's.

So...

The air pump feeds air to the cat via the ACV on S4 and S5 NA and TII.

6PI and VDI system applications:

S4, S5 Turbo: Not applicable
S4: 6PI, via backpressure from exhaust
S5: 6PI and VDI, pressure from air pump.

Most of everyone is talking about NAs, leaving the air pump for the aux ports.

I just want a straight answer. I have a s5t2 motor I'm prepping to put into my s4na. Can I remove all the emissions with out problems? And if not what are the problems and solutions?

TIIs don't need an airpump for anything but emissions.

The belt will slip badly as mentioned.

Does the air pump and acv/split air pipe go hand in hand when removing?

Awesome! Thanks man. Let me ask you one more thing though. when you took your acv (the pic you in your thread) did you also remove the split are pipe? i feeds air from the intake manifold to the cat. If so, did you just block it off?

Sorry to bump up this thread but I need some assurance.
On my car I'm doing a custom exhaust, RB header w/ ypipe to 2 mufflers, no cats. Even now my actuator valves are stuck but I plan on wiring them electronically following the rotary ressurection method.
From my understand the air pump helps with emissions but I have no cats so could I remove it?

If you intend to use an electric air pump to supply the actuators, you can remove the belt-driven air pump. You'll also want to get a double sheave pulley for the alternator or a "yoohoo belt" to prevent slipping.

Otherwise, you could leave the belt-drive air pump and do this: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/activating-aux-ports-vdi-rpm-switches-907824/.
