Air Pump Removal...

Can we remove the air pump on these cars? Do you want too?

the air pumps serve no purpose in the airpump. They are emissions air pumps that help putting more direct fresh air mixed with your exhaust manifold to put out a ''cleaner exhaust''.

I cant remember if emissions laws apply in Atlanta, but if they do not, then remove it.

However if you have a s5 N/a the airpump is used to actuate teh secondary ports. If you do this you will have to keep your actuators open and get a blockoff plate.

Its very simple and with the removal of the airpump/bracket/hoses you get alot of more space to work and not to mention more options to mod.

if you remove the airpump, you should get rid of the main cat too. if you dont, it will begin to clog and burn itself up, giving a lot of backpressure and possibly damaging the engine.

Well- I am probably stuck... we have STRICT emissions controls here in Atlanta...
