Air intake thermosensor (engine)...where is located???
Greetings from Greece.
I ve been searching the forum for a relative thread and found some posts but i didnt understand where exactly is located.
My car is a S5 Turbo.
The sensor that i am looking for is the one located below the BAC valve, next to the tube that feeds the IC with air and almost behind the air pump pulley.
It has two cables running from it and It looks exactly like the one in the foto but according to the FSM its not the intake air thermosensor because the air intake thermosensor in S5 turbos is located below the IC and to the driver's side, am i right?
So....is the air intake thermosensor the one that i am looking for?
I thank you in advance.

This info is easily found in the Factory Service Manual. If you don't have the FSM, click here and download it in PDF format for free.

Definitely the port air solenoid valve.
If you're looking for the intake temp sensor circled in the pic in your first post, it's screwed into the TB inlet. FSM psge F2-2, item 13.

Buy a ACV off someone on the USA forum and it'll have the port air solenoid on it.
After twenty thousand miles have been reach on a car, it is open all the time. So, I'm saying you could get a bolt to plug the open hole and be just as well off as long as the bolt does not go down into the hole too far.
The port air and split air solenonds have no effect whatsoever on engine performance in anyt way, shape or form.

Ok thanx for the info...
Another thread raised from the dead.............
Can i just unplug the port air solenoid valve???Is it ok to do that???
The two wires that connect this valve to the main electrical system are rotten and i think that they cause problems when i drive in bumpy roads.
Thanks in advance and have a happy new year guys!!!!!
Anyone???
