How do i pressure check--- or do a compressions check on my engine--- and what are the proper psi's for a 87 N/A???

I got 3 letter word for you and it starts with a F and ends with an M... still can't get it? its FSM!! search it or im guessin within 35 seconds the links will be provided by another member... or try FAQ's

Buy a compression tester. Remove the EGI fuse. Remove a spark plug, screw in compression gauge.
Normal compression gauges hold the highest pressure on the gauge until you press the release valve. So, what you'll need to do is hold the valve down with your finger, while someone else cranks the motor over. What you're looking for is 3 even pulses: 1 pulse and 2 very small (or none) pulses means an apex seal is blown.
Replace spark plug, and do the same for the other rotor.
I'm not sure what "normal" numbers are, but that's a good way to find out if an apex seal is blown using a normal compression tester.

let out on the valve now, and let the tester reach an overall compression value for all 3 faces(highest of 3 will be displayed). 115+ is like new, 100-115 is healthy, 90-100 is getting weak(1 year or less in most cases) below 90 could blow at any moment.
