aftermarket BOV in, car barely idles/stalls

okay, i installed a TURBOXS bov in my intercooler piping, now the car won't idle, it will almost die, but catches on at the last moment. another thing is, i am running plumbing ductings to my intercooler, and now it keeps blowing out of the trubo? is this due to the TURBO XS BOV? how do i avoid the idle/ stallin prob, what goin on? i removed the hose that goes back to the TID that is connected to the old BOV. that kinda help the idle but it still surges..any help will be great.

thanks

Cal

ps thanks for all the help on th battery prob.

I just bought an rx7 from the forum, and it has a turboXS blow off valve, and it does the same thing... I've only owned the car 2 days and the whole affair blows.

The title cant transfer, and i cant seem to get in contact with the seller as of yet... The transmission makes a wheening sound and starts to somewhat grind as i put it in to third gear...

AAAND... my blow off valve seems to of blown its pipe that connects it to the throttle body... and me being hte newbie with all mechanics... i have NO Idea where the throttle body is, my dad told me the car waaaas a lemon and i was gipped for the price i got, and i'm starting to regret getting this bastard car.

can anyone help me as well?

You need to adjust the spring tension so that the valve is closed at idle. If it's open you have a massive vac leak.

exactly you need to tighten up the spring

as of right now its prolly relaly loose and its not closing all the way so its letting in air (a leak) but dont crank the spring all the way tight cause then your BOV might not work the way its supposed to cause the wpring will be to tight to let out teh excesse presure (sp?)

hey, stupid question....did you plug up the hose going from the blow off valve into the TID? if you didnt thats a monster leak after the air flow meter. you have to plug that hole when you run a open air BOV...

Time to get:

1) The Haynes service manual.
2) Do a lot of reading at www.fc3s-pro.com once it is back on line.
3) Download the Factory Service Manual from one of the various source around the net.

As long as you car has a solid chassis, any mechanical stuff can be fixed with some work.

Don't let your dad discourage you!!! My dad still thinks my car is a lemon, lol. Even if it does make 350HP. To him an RX-7 will always be a POS

Yeah, don't let dad get you down about your Turbo, He probally feels bad because he dosn't know jack about them ether...My dad is the same way!
However, you have alot of reading to do to get up to snuff on these cars...
Yes, the TID does often crack, being so close to the hot Turbo and you can loose a ton of boost right there!
Good luck/skill!

Alright, i found the port and i've connected it back, everything seems to work fine besides the fact that after 6,000 RPMS the engine struggles to get any higher. It might be because of that 'leak' you guys are mentioning... or maybe its my TPS sensor which is a bit faulty?

Eitherway, how do i adjust the spring on the BOV? I looked around for the turboXS valves on the net... and almost all of them are different, some with adjustable springs and some without, so i'm not entirely sure what to do with the 6k problem

Didn't it come with instructions? If not, e-mail the supplier and ask them to send then to you.

okay another problem just poped up

the car starts fine, idles fine and all but i when i go rev it up, it comes down and dies?

all the TID is airtight

intercooler piping is tight too to my knowledge?

did i miss a hose? remove a hose?

is it my BOV itself cuz i am running a heavy spring?
