after market shift boot help

Question after market shift boot help

has anyone put in an aftermarket shift boot? i am trying to get mine in but i can't seem to be able to stretch the boot around the shift boot plate.....

Oh god this is more trouble than its worth. I bought a nice momo shift boot but had the same problem as you had. So I cut it in certain areas so that the boot would stretch out to those little pin things under the shifter boot cover. Basically i cut out 4 "flaps" which allowed me to contort the bottom of the boot to the shape i needed. This is the ghetto way of doing it of course, but i dont see any other way of doing this.

The previous owner had an aftermarket boot as well. If i can find it i'll take a pic for you so you can see what the hell im yammering about here

this is a boot from redlinegoods back when it was a one man operation i think his SN was researcher or somthing like that

thats y i bought these cause the are made for the car and fit perfect also notice he made a matching one for the E-brake sos you dont see that cheese plastic that mazda put on it

My momo fit with no problem, and had extra to spare to fit it in and is still way long! I don't see how this could be a problem, as long as the shift boot is long enough just fold more under the shifter surround and it should stretch just fine.

Nice thats the first good pic i've seen of the redline good ebrake boot and it does look nice
