I believe the rating on the spring will set the lowest waste gate release pressure. Installing an electronic boost controller will not circumvent this minimum.

I'm not a professional, so it would be wise to let some one confirm what I believe.

Adjust it so you are extending the length of the actuator arm. It's going to be a guess and check process. If the arm is already adjusted so there is no pre-load on the internal spring, you cannot adjust it any lower. Like ^he said. Worst case, wire the wastegate open if you are afraid of driving it un-tuned.

i tried both ways to extend it made it longer to boost up but still went up to 9 and i herd a rattle at idle maybe the flapper . and shortening it made it more responsive but still went up in boost to 9ish. and what do u mean wire it shut? i got a manual boost controller for now

not shut, open. wastegate always open=no boost for you!

I know what he is doing, because I did it to keep my boost down until I got more miles on it. On my turbo, some sort of turbonetics that was used by HKS for their Sport Kit, I had to lengthen the rod so much so that it,the valve, never closed. Boost response was slow, but the result was only 7-8 lbs. I just crossed over 1500 miles and I raised it by shortening the rod so that I get about 10-11 lbs. Response is better but in 500 more miles I will return it to what it was and hook up my boost controller properly so that it works...Right now it does not work.

What I think he means is to disconnect the actuator rod from the flapper rod's arm. Tie mechanic wire around the flapper rod's arm so the waste gate is held open all of the time.

Any boost controller, electric or mechanical, will only allow you to raise boost over spring pressure. Not lower it.

if its making noise, its probably open and boost is as low as you're gonna get. you could put a restriction in the intake or exhaust...
