Additonal boost nipples

Can i drill and tap and insert a additional boost nipple into the block off plates that cover any of these holes? i still use my BAC so thats out of the question. I have my boost sensor, boost gauge, Boost controll pressure solenoid and BOV all hooked up to my BOV boost line/ nipple. I dont want to pull my UIM off to drill thru the nipples on the front of the TB just yet.

Can i use the line going to the FPR? it is for the MAP sensor for my FCON

no. i need a boost line for the map sensor of my PFC FCON,

I know that the smaller one is the line that once went to my cat ( the split air pipe ), does this see boost/ vacuum or only the air from the air pump?

The only places that you could do that is on the cover of the ACV blockoff plate.

The ACV itself has a nipple that feeds the boost/pressure sensor. So you would find the exact spot on the blockoff plate opposite where that nipple WAS, and drill into the blockoff plate there and install a nipple.

The other not so obvious place would be on the ACV blockoff plate just opposite the area where the anti afterburn valve feeds air to the intake (a very small hole, not the large cavitys). I can't expalin it better than that right now. Those are the ONLY two places behind the ACV that have a passage to the intake area/ports.

What happens on a NORMAL car, is that when you let off the throttle, the diaphram in the Anti afterburn Valve in the ACV, opens to let airpump air into the intake manifold. That is the ONLY time airpump air ever enters the intake.

The red circle to the left goes to the split air pipe and does not lead to the intake air.

thats the exact picture i found posted by NZconvertible and thats exactly what i did.

I didnt realise that 2/3 ( top and bottom ) nipples on the front side of the UIM by the TB saw boost/vacum. I though the only sources i had were the FPR source and the nipple for the BOV. so i had my BOV, boost gauge, Boost pressure solenoid sensor, Boost sensor all coming from the BOV nipple ( over kill for one nipple if you ask me ) and wanted to find/make another source because i needed to add another sensor ( the MAP sensor for my PFC Fcon )

so to put it bluntly, i all ready had 3 T fittings in that line and i didnt want to add a 4th

Next time you take your ACV blockoff plates off, you can see that you had two possibilities for installing a nipple on the ACV blockoff plate.

One is the one the NZ used but he could have installed another one in the anti afterburn valves air source. See attacged jpg.

Guess who has no use for TEES. Personal predjudice.

I put my f-con pressure sensor right next to the stock one... it was too easy not to tee into it (although I usually hate tees as well).

When I was looking for additional nipples though - I used some of the ones under the upper intake manifold.

I like it, that would get rid of my one remaining tee.

Well, since you liked that so much, I'll let you in on another secret. There's one more place you can add a nipple to. It's colored in yellow in the attached jpg. That is the hole the Anti afterburn dumps airpump air into during deceleration.

The OTHER anti-afterburn hole in RED is the one used by the ACV to pull a vacuum on the anti afterburn valves diaphram to operate the anti afterburn valve

Need more nipples? Get a sow OR next time you remove the lower (or even the upper) intake manifold, just drill holes in the runners and attach extra nipples. You can do that just with the upper removed by making a shaving barrier below the point you drill and vacuum the shavings out after drilling.

Tees are for golfing.

What mods etc do you have on your car and what setting do you have your fcon set at?

Im running 11psi on setting 2,

3" turbo back, 3 inch TOD with Pod, S5 turbo and inlet manifolds. Mild ported S4 block ( to be honest i dont know the extent of the porting as i cant see inside there ) apparently its a Stage 2, ( or a SP in USA ), MSD 6a and the PFC Fcon

I dont have a wide band but my narrow band it reading 2nd to highest rich setting.
