Adding low impedance 720 cc injectors.

I gave my friend a set of ND 720's which I tested at 2.1 ohms. He had them put into his 90 TII, and the shop said he didn't need resistors, but I know the stock injectors are around 13 ohms. My friend is using a stock ECU with an F-CON. He says the car runs ok, but I think the injectors will burn out. Am I right?

I would think it would harm the ecu first, but its possible that the injectors could fry ~ definetly put in the resistors, its not going to make the car run any worse, maybe better.. I had fried resistors and found someone on this forum w/ extras, picked them up for $25... (thanks!) So, that's what i'd recomend

You can get the resistors from Radio Shack for a couple of bucks a piece. You just wire them inline with the injector.

Yeah, I know. I was just wondering why the shop would insist they're not needed.

Does the shop usually work on RX-7's? Sounds a bit weird for them to recommend against something that will save a future repair. Maybe they are trying to get repeat business(IE when either the injectors or the ECU go out)?

Yeah, they work on alot of RX-7's. It's Rampage in NY. I don't know if maybe the F-CON allows for low impedance injectors.
