Adding aftermarket FPR

I am going to be adding a SX FPR next week and was wondering if anybody that has done this before has any recommendations or pics of their install.

I'm planning on removing the stock FPR and pulsation dampener while I'm modifying the fuel rails. Is that the right direction to go?

Thanks!

I wouldn't remove the damper. it's there for a reason. just try and find an 89+ rail with the better one that won't leak. you'll proably going to need some fittings ect for the FPR which are not cheap. is it a boost raising one? do you have other ways of tunning. S-AFC etc? you are going to have a hard time trying to set it up. raising the pressure will just give you crappy low end.

I assume this is a turbo II?

Yes, I have a 87 T-II. It's okay if it runs crappy because now it doesn't even run! My fuel pressure now with the ignition just turned to "on" and the fuel connector NOT jumpered is up around 55-60 PSI so I'm pretty sure my FPR is dead anyway.

Yeah, it's a rising rate FPR. The SX FPR from rx7.com to be exact.

The easiest way would be to tap into the fuel line that goes from the stock regulator to the fuel tank return line.

If you're going to remove the stock FPR then you'll need a fitting to go in the hole.
