WHY??
Why would you want to make your own components?
Would you try and make your own piston rings? Would you try to machine a new cam?
Don't degrade the rotary to a shadetree rebuild. These things are high performance machines that carry many advantages over a conventional engine.
Treat them with respect and give them proper maintenance and rebuild quality. If you do your RX will love you back and keep a smile on your face and make you keep coming back for more.
Some would argue that driving their RX comes close to being as good as sex!
Buy the best parts for your car... even if you have to compromise something else you may want to do for it.
High quality = high fun factor! (and it's their each time you want it for longer)

i was just curious, because those rebuild kits are kind of steep, and i want to get a jspec and rebuild.
but i did find that atkins rotary has some decent prices on rebuild kits, and rebuilt engines, and they are close to me.
