Unhappy Add Coolant Alarm

New RX7 owner- Why doe the add coolant alarm go off when coolant is full? Is there a fuse to pull or reset? The car also loves to flood itself...understand this is common...yea!!!

The buzzer can go off for low coolant, low oil, or over rev/redline.

If you are sure the coolant is full and has been properly bleed to remove bubbles, then check your oil level.

But you probably have bubbles in the coolant. Bleed the system

Also I have had 2 cars where the air bleed on the rad just woudnt allow the rad to "top" to the sensor. (could have been for a few reasons which I wont go into). Solution, unscrew the sensor and use a funnel to top up the rad to sensor level. (also good to determine sensor worked, air bleeding procedure is frustrating in some cases) Light and alarm solved. (side note in both circumstances there was a small leak elsewhere that still needed solving, light came back real soon til fixed)

All you have to do to test the sensor is take a multimeter and put one probe to ground and the other to the sensor where the wire plugs in. There should be little to no resistance. And open circuit means that the sensor is likely not good. The sensor grounds through the coolant..

Most people have no clue to properly bleeding the system.

To do so you must use the bleed valve on the rad as well as pump out the air through the top coolant cap (by squeezing the top rad hose).

If you just fill until coolant comes out the bleed valve, you are only half way there.

not sure i understand what ur saying, the bleeder is above the soft rubber hose, when u open the bleeder, water fills the hose up to the opening....and i know theres still air in the system....at the very top, from the bleeder to the hard plastic angle......so how would squeezing the rubber help?....

and i fill from the top until the bleeder valve starts leaking..then fill it some more until it reaches the brim

fill with coolant till it flows out the bleeder.

put bleeder in

(on S4) remove top coolant cap.

squeeze hose with hand.

Listen and see bubbles escaping.

fill again to overflowing

put all caps in.

squeeze hose a couple more times

listen for bubbles moving up the hose to the top

remove cap or bleeder (depending on series)

fill again to overflowing.

put caps back on

repeat until no longer you can hear any bubbles and the coolant remains overflowing.

Remember Air is your enemy, you want to remove even the tiniest of bubbles through the top of the system. The top at the thermostat housing... not the top of the radiator.
