Good luck.

There ae some people on E-bay selling what is basically a ripoff of the Mazdatrix short shifter... but it will still cost you aboiut 160 bucks.

I just cut the stock lever about 1" shorter.
Then I drilled a wood shift ball so it would fit tight & sit low on the lever.
A short piece of heater hose cover the hot steel lever.
The throw distance ends up about the same as a short shifter.

Here is my current console:

Ya know Higgi... why don't you just send me a parts list so i don't keep stepping on your dick when i post!!!!!!

Cutting the shifter down is the Ghetto way to do it, but it does shorten the lenght of travel, but it will make it a bit harder to shift. I'm actually thinking about cutting the shaft on my Mazdatrix Ssort Shifter and re-machining it to accept the stock shifter.

PS...... OH MY GOD IS THAT A CB??????????????????????????????????? :O

I love that wood ball, that's awesome. I've always wanted to use wood in my car somehow. And it would wear nicely over time!

I just couldn't imagine the wood would look good in an FC, but it looks pretty good I have to say.

It's an AM/FM modified for 120 channels with a little 150watt linear on the floor.
If I push the radio to 10 watts & overdrive the linear, it broadbands enough to talk to nearby cops.

And - wood is a good insulator so it stays cool.

The only problem is, they come with a #10-32 set screw.
Drilling the wood to fit the shift lever threads & retapping the set screw to 1/4-20 makes it real solid.

Odd. everyone asks me if I have a short shifter. I just used a S5 GTU **** and rod (huh huh) and put it into my TII tranny. There are some ***** where the thread is at the top of the **** itself. So it goes down alot. I'll show a pic of mine.
