? about down pipes?

is a down pipe only for a turbo? i know that sounds dumb but when i looked up the na headers for my car the headers looked really long.

downpipes are for turbos... The headers for our cars are long... our engine exhaust temperatures are very hot... and they just make them long so as to continue the pull to get the gasses out...

this is not entirely true. Racing Beat does infact make a downpipe for NA's. If you have the stock header, you can use an RB downpipe. i know this cause i have one

I do know that racing beat calls the pipe between the stock header/manifold and the y-pipe, a down pipe.

In the general context I'm used to seeing it here (apparently it means something else elsewhere...) the downpipe connects the stock manifold to the front of the cat- it's not just for turbos, since using a downpipe eliminates the small 'pre-cats' that the stock exhaust system used and any restrictions/flow turbulence that having them caused.

not hard at all..... there is a good amount of room to move a wrench/ratchet. took me all of 5 minutes
