If I still had a N/A I would put in 83 octane if it was available.

In that case, I'll go back to running that 85. That **** is cheap, and the car never ran better than on that stuff.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. I don't think a car is supposed to vomit premium fuel either......

I used 93 for the first 2 months and the car ran ok, but gas mileage sucked. Now I use 87 and even switched to 98 in my 2001 Pathfinder, and it runs fine too.

That would be me, and that would be the the author of this this thread who I was responding to.

Note that I included references. I'm not sure why he asked the same question again, because I don't think that asking the general opinion of people on this forum is going to change the statements by the FTC and the oil companies.

BTW, you should not use any lower octane fuel than the minimum rating of the vehicle, as is also stated in those references, and in the owners manual.

No, I wasnt trying to be an *** to you. I was stating the facts.

From your original post:

"I know no matter what I wont stop running it, but I was wondering why I shouldnt??"

So after I presented the facts, I ended with the statement "But go ahead, and keep doing it!"

After all, you said you were going to keep doing it anyway. So again I ask, how was this interpreted by you, as me being an ***? You a little jumpy today? Too much caffeine? Get beat up at highschool today and feel like some internet revenge?

Sheesh!
my bad,I'm in a bad mood, so sorry. But, I seriously know for a fact my car runs way better with 93 in it. I know it for a fact pretty much. it runs 2X's better than with 87

I wish they had some up here in Pcola - would be nice to use, instead of just 87
