FL 929 Ring and pinion swap into T2 housing

Ok guys ive worn out the search engine on this site. Im hoping someone has done this swap. I have a 88 gxl with a T2 rear swap. It has the 4.10 ratio which is less than desirable for my setup. I really need something close to a 3.73. If im not mistaken, a 929 ring OR pinion gear in combination with a T2 ring OR pinion gear will get me this ratio. Any one done this or know what needs to happen in order for it to work?

Thanks in advance,

Chandler

IIRC I think there's a thread where people have used a 3.9 out of an FD automatic rear.

I wonder if an FD 3.9:1 r&p would work?

Why not a built 700R4? this is a drag oriented car? Or could you use an actual built later model 4L60E (as opposed to the mechanically controlled ones) and control the tranny through the PCM like any other factory LSx + 4L60E combo?

good thing about GM automatics is that there are soooo many parts available for them. I have helped rebuild a 4L60E (which as I'm sure you know is just an evolution of the TH350 and 700R4) and you can get stuff pretty cheap, even though they aren't that stout from the factory
