89 Vert Front sway bar swapped into my 88 SE what do I need to do?

Is there anything special I need to do to put a beefier 89 vert front sway bar on my 88 SE?

Besides the mounting brackets and replacing the bushings with poly units.

The reason I ask is because I have a broken wrist and would like this swap to go as smoothly as possible.

Thanks guys!

I could be wrong but if you get the RB adjustable endlinks, they should work?

Someone double check me?

Uh, I have never done it but I think it should be an easy swap.

1) Jack up Car, Remove Wheels & Plastic undertray
2) Unbolt sway bar ends
3) Unbolt sway bar bushings and holders
4) Reverse

^Yes sir!

Vert AND T2 front sway bars are a comperable to the RB sway bars from what I hear. So far just by the old hand test, the Vert bar is Def. thicker.

to the best of my knowledge, they arent. i was told that the t2 sways are beefier, when in fact, they were not. and yes, the sway bars are a direct swap. only difference in the sway bars are the endlinks. s4 and s5 are totally different, thats because they mount on the control arms differently, which are also different. ask me how i know...........................ugh.
anywho, yes, direct swap.
my #1 question is, why bigger sways? i have a fully built suspension, and without having thousands of hours of track racing, i personally dont feel a difference. i have felt 28mm vs 20 mm bars, at high speed cornering, and they felt the same.
but thats just me

peace

Well theres is 100% without a doubt a difference in thickness between the vert and my coupes sway bars.

Too bad my 88 sway bar end links will not fit the 89 vert bar right? Unless I do a 5- lug conversion.

I was only looking to upgrade the sway bar because I am lowering my sway bar for a v8 swap and figured that for $6 I might as well upgrade the sway bar right?

ok, sorry, misread. there is no doubt difference in sways considering the 400lb difference in coupe vs vert. but seriously, idk, i have yet to notice a difference between stock and the 1 1/4" sways.

peace

lol Oh ok good. I was worried that I misread where I heard there WAS a beefier bar in the vert.

I went and tried the swap yesterday, same endlinks from s4 coupe to s5 vert, would have been a direct sway if I hadnt snapped the head off the the mounts bolt lol.

For Future searchers, Vert sway bar IS thicker than coupe. S5 Vert end links WILL mount to the S4 coupes end links.

The Turbo, Vert, Sport, 88 GTU, and GTUs front sway is 24mm, while all others are 22mm.
