3) Any modified car will generally require more upkeep than a stock car, expect problems with either car.
4) You'll have to swap the engine in the s14 just to get it on the same starting ground as the tII. So there you've already spent a couple grand most likely.
Verdict: Buy a real family car if you're worried about carrying a baby around, and keep the other as a weekend/hobby car. The last thing you need is to drift you and your baby off a cliff or into a wall.

i don't have the funds to get a minivan. and that is why if i sell the fc i would trade it for a 240 so i don't put too much money into transportation. i need to save for an apt. and all the things that comes with expecting a baby. i wish i could get a minivan, i would most definiety get a siena but i don't have the funds for such a van. and if i would modify the 240? yes i would but not till i can get another reliable car. the only mods i would do would be rims and suspensions. not any heavy performance mods. need to keep the car in a nice safe running condition.
-Good luck with the baby dude, the fun is over.

Congrats on the baby. Of all cars, you should not get a sports coupe. The ride is harsh for the baby . If anything , get a decent Japanese sedan such as an Altima , Maxima, Camry etc. You need 4 doors. It'll make it easier to strap the little one in.
Besides, the 4 door Japanese sedans are reliable and good looking.
Oh and by the way, don't get a Mazda 90's and up automatic trans. It's a major piece of ****. I'm surprised Mazda didn't do a recall on them. The MPV and Navajo were the worst.

well the fc comes with lsd stock-s14 doesnt
fc has better weight distribution---s14's isnt as balance like a fc
fc you already have invested money(assuming)--s14 will cost roughly 3-4k to do the swap properly

you need to go get a cheap realiable 4 door sedan so your child seat can be properly installed and you have room to haul you and yoru gf/wife areound and all the baby's crap
you shouldnt be getting an FC or and S14 or even thinknig abotu getting one if you are expecting a baby
if you do get one it wil be a car for you only you wont be transporting a baby in it
go get an AE ( if you can find a seller ) or a TII and make it a project car and build it up the way you want over a couple year period
that would be yoru best bet

wow...
i'd like to chime in with my .02 cents....<readies his fire extinguisher>
IMO, family > fun, but if you want to get whatever car you want, u gotta understand that there's gotta b a comprimise somewhere....
baby+new apartment = alotta $$$
baby+new apartment+another car (replacment or not) = a whole lotta $$$
baby+new apartment+another car+mods = a **** load of $$$
not to sound like a ***** or anything, but take it from me, i've got 3 kids, was so financially unstable, had a 91 integra coupe as a family car for a while, until i got a subaru, and im only 25! it'll definatley be hard living and stressful for the next couple of years.
yeah, there are a whole lotta other **** thats gonna get factored in over the years but, like some of these other posters said, get a family car 1st, then over time (2-3 years down the road) think about getting a rx-7 project car. even if it means getting rid of your 7 to get a family car, do it...although your priorities might be different from everyone else's, in the end...its all about you...
and your new family
g'luck with the young'un.
ps: dont mean to sound like a counselor or whatever, but this is just my opinion, take for what its worth, entirely up to you....now, let the flames begin!

thank you for giving me your advice and not flamming my *** to kingdom come. All i needed was a short piece of advice, not a long *** paragraph on how stupid i am and etc etc. And if you were in my position, you would understand what Heet is saying because if i do want to be a happy involved father, i am still human and need to keep myself sane with doing work and going to school and taking care of a kid and wife. I will see if i can even sell the 7 for a decent price.

He who smokes bitches
you+ family sedan (626, civic, etc)-rx7+appartment=
and once your set in the appartment and financially stable, then maybe, maybe get another fc or 240 to mod on the side. but just make sure you have extra cash on the side before you get a project car.
