Killed 2 turbo 350Zs, swapped S14

Went to the local dragstrip last night for the first time and had a blast. I didn't actually line up against these guys, but I was hanging out with them comparing slips and I beat them all . One of the Z's looked like more of a show car, but was turbo with a huge FMIC and I'm guessing he was putting down some serious numbers. It was a single turbo at 8psi and he said he hasn't dynoed it yet. I think his best time was a 9.2 1/8th mile or something. Second one looked more like a sleeper/track car and was also turbo, but he got an even slower time than the other one. The last one was a show S14 with a turbo VQ 350z motor. His best run he had a .526 or something reaction time, but had some high times still. I ran a 8.8 1/8th mile missing third gear, but I got a pretty good launch with a 1.9 60'.

I had a great time and had a lot of fun. Just had to brag about beating those guys

a turbo 350 that gets a 9.2 in the 1/8 isn't putting down anything close to serious number. its probably around a high 13 second car if that. i ran an 8.4 in my fd and 12.9 in the quarter and i'm not putting down serious number.

cars producing some serious numbers would be hitting 11's in the quarter or better.

i got like 300hp or a tad more and i broke into the 12's my first time at the 1/4 mile track here.

I'm sure you learned at the dragstrip that it's ALL about the driver though. I really didn't get too many details about the setups, but the guys work at a turbo company (won't say which one), and I think they were running T4's. It's possible they could have been putting down only around 300whp. They aren't really drag racers, and it was also their first time at the dragstrip.
