87 TII compression test

Okay I tested the compression, but since we had no schrader valve, i had to use a normal piston type tester. I got three even pulses with the release valve held in on both rotors, then when I let it build up with the valve shut, I got 110 PSI on the front rotor and 100 PSI on the rear. What does this mean? Is this good??

yes it's fine. I got max psi reading of 114 on both my front and rear rotors after i redid all the seals and broke in he new engine (about 1000mi on it now. about 115psi is "like new" anything below 90psi you'll need to worry about replacing the seals soon.

don't the numbers depend on what RPM you do the test at? Maybe you should do it again, just to be sure.

Compression numbers are drastically affected by your battery, and outside temperature. Bad battery = lower compression numbers. Lower Temp. = Lower numbers. I remember seeing a conversion table somewhere, possibly the FSM, that gave correction factors for Battery CCA, and Outside Temperature.

125 is "like new", 100 means that you have some life left, but by no means is it going to last another 50K miles. Basically at 150k miles, if you start to modify the car, the engine could go at any time.

You also really need to know the numbers for each rotor face, the numbers you provided are the compression for the heathiest face for the combustion chamber.

see thats what i was thinking, but when holding the valve in i got exactly the same number- 28 on every pulse. that leads me to believe that my seals are fine
