wierd sound coming from CAI
I've just finished fabbing up a cold air intake that runs through the washer fluid area, similar to this one: http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...&hl=custom+CAI
and after test driving it, I noticed a couple things:
1) the intake itself has either a loud sucking sound or a loud leaking sound, they sound pretty similar to me, and I can't tell if it's sucking or leaking. I'm worried I have a leak and the most likely place that'd be is where the cone filter is attached to my piping before the AFM. Would this affect performance if there was a leak, because i didn't notice a big decrease in performance or anything. Or maybe the sucking sound does sound like this, in which case, it's a pretty loud and noticeable sound which I didn't expect.
2) My car used to backfire when I shifted at high RPM's, after putting the intake in, it stopped doing this. So does this mean, i'm not running as rich anymore? Have other people experienced this? (that putting a CAI in leaned out the air to fuel mixture)
3) My butt dyno didn't notice much of a power difference, but then again, how reliable is the butt dyno, eh?

it's prolly sucking.....you can always take a can of carb cleaner and spray some of it along the CAI and if you hear your RPMs rise when you spray it along the PIPE ( AWAY FROM THE FILTER) then you can pinpoint the leak.
