86 NA Injectors...

Is there a difference in the primary and secondary injectors? Are they 450cc? Are they high impendancy? I'm looking to replace some leaky stock injectors and need to know which injectors to purchase or upgrade to. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

K thanks....anyone else know the impendancy? I seen some cleaned and blueprinted 460cc Denso's with a high impendancy on ebay. Would these work with my 86 NA?

hmm i think the 86 and 87 came with the low impedance injectors with the resistor pack, the 88 and up came with the high impedance injectors.

That would be 86-87.5 low impedence
87.5-92 high impedence.

And the primary and 2ndary injectors are the same.

Icemark:
I know you can put the low impedence injectors in a high impedence car with the use of resister packs, but can you run high impedence injectors in a low impedence car without modifying anything? (Other than the injector plugs obviously...)

Take your injectors out and send them out to be cleaned and tested.

www.cruzinperformance.com does them for 11bux each and I can't complain from the 6 I've sent them.

yeah, well I always figured to just get the right part, instead of trying to make the worng part work. It would have never occured to me to get the wrong injectors and to try and make it work.

Rotaryresurrection to the rescue

"***IF using LI injectors on a HI harness, you must splice into the harness, at each injector lead (for a total of 4) 10 ohm/10watt resistors available at radio shack for a couple of bucks. Doesn't matter which wire of the 2 per injector you splice to, polarity isn't an issue here. This bumps the LI resistance up to acceptable load for the ECU to see. "

"***IF using HI injectors on a LI harness, you must unplug the resistor pack. Next, locate the supply wire in the center of 5 terminals. Bridge jumper wires from this terminal to each of the 4 outlying terminals, which basically completes the circuit without resistors, carrying the HI injectors' 12-13 ohm load directly to the ECU just as a HI harness would."

That's understandable, but it's just weird to see a question that you don't know the answer to

Hey, I'm all for using the right part on the right car. Personally I hate hacking the electrical system to make things work... However there are some times when $$$Money$$$ is the driving force behind my modifications.

I happen to come upon some TII S5 injectors at an excellent price. I need to use them in an S4 car.

As always Icemark hit the nail on the head.

Also just as powrdby13B said they are 460cc
