5/6 port removal..vdi...all them good stuffs
ive been readin some posts over the searcher button, but i never really got a good strong answer on all this. I have a 91 n/a and is it *REALLY* worth it to remove the air pump (and in return block off the vdi, remove the sleeves, ports, and actuators and all them stuffs)? Can the ports, sleeves and actuators be removed by removing the exhaust header, or does the engine need to be dismantled?
As the rule of nature...there is something lost for everything gained..but do the positives outweigh the negatives on a car that doesnt seem to have any problems w/ the ports? Low end power (<3500-4000) isnt *too much of a concern to me but i wouldnt like to be beat by a civic dx in a 0-30.
I can find out how to do the 'disinstall' from writeups floating around the web. I just want to make sure that i dont **** up my car.

Off the top of my head the N/A car making the most dyno proven HP on a stock port engine is running with the 5th/6th port and the VDI operational. He is getting a little over 160HP to the rear tires. I believe on a daily driver its more benefical to have them working than not.

if i were to replace the sleeves w/ pinapple racing sleeves, would they later be able to replace TII sleeves, or are the 6 ports completely different the the 4's.

I have wired open my ports, and locked the VDI in "high". I have noticed a loss in bottom end torque, but it revvs smoother and faster. The car also pulls much stronger above 3k RPM. It is your call, as I have yet to hit the dyno. I am also running a full exhaust, and intake.

The 6 port NA engine is completely different from a 4 port TII engine. A port is a "hole" leading into the combustion camber. You can't just Plug the auxilary ports and then consider it a TII engine!!!

It's retarded that people would take out their VDI and their 6 port if they are working. Both of them are PROVEN to help you gain power, not loose. If you compare the chart between stuck 6 port and working 6 port, you will know why it is worth to keep them up. I would rather have hte extra 15 lbs of the airpump than losing 10lb of torque below 4K

the main cat for both na and tII is the same size right? (if you buy a bonez main cat for an n/a, it would fit a tII)
reason i was asking about the ports is because there is a huge amount of mixed opinions on this mod.

I believe the Pineapple racing sleeves work, but it doesn't make a damn difference if you just wired them open, that's because you lost teh low end already. If you are asking about mods on how much you gain from it, I dont know. But if you are asking if wired teh 5th and 6 port open and locking the VDI on high will gain you power. The answer is no. Mazda R&D dont spend all these money on engineers for nothing. Also my friend and I both spend 100 bucks on the dyno, we can back up what I just said above

tmak26b what was the hp difference from having them working and having the 6 ports wired open and some people say that if you take them out you will get more hp but only if you have mods
