let me see last time I tried a wot 3rd gear pull with my
88ae i remember it hitting about 130ish in 3rd with the
buzzer going off. And its a auto

hmm. I hit 100mph at about 7700 rmp

 

since this thread is back just to update:

I now hit 4rth at the track, since I installed the new clutch and have hit 114+ MPH in the 1/4 mile
with plain street tires
rolling off the line


Will update once I run with DOT's again

You don't have an 88AE.
Mazda did not make an AE with an automatic tranny.

 

i hit 85mph doing 7300 rpm

 

got my 86 GX up to 160km's in 3rd gear (100mph pretty sure) at 7300 rpms on some really crappy tires on 14 inchers...does that sound right? seems wierd to me...maybe I'm lying...

 

speedo said 115 @8K on 205/60/15 with 4.1 rear on my 90NA, perfectly level ground

 

i hit about 95 in 3rd, and oh about 130 in 4th

 

how do you know what speed you are at at the end of third? Im usually not looking at the speedo

In my car if I shift at 7k, I get 30-60-90, in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

 

I can get to about ~150kph in 3rd, I think.. I usually shift at about 6500 tho.... It's been a while since I've made the trip, to tell the truth

how is your turbo engine holding up with 8000RPM + boost? I've been told by many people that the TII's just don't like super mega high revs...

 

i got 100 at 7300rpm in my 88 N/A with 158000 miles yesterday...i was trying to make a flame shoot out for my friends LOL...it would have done maybe 105 but theres wierd shaking and rattles when i get the RPM up that high(over the 7)

 

at approximately 6500 rpm i hit 60mph in 2nd gear.
i have also seen 140mph at around 6000rpm in 4th gear. i haven't tried the top end since the mods.
