I say get a good suspention setup, a full exhaust, a bnr hybrid, and the supporting mods. Everyone overlooks the suspention, but it makes a HUGE difference in how enjoyable the car is to drive. You got an RX-7 so take advantage of its strength - handling.

If the "going fast" is drag-strip only, just make sure the stock brakes are ok, but if its on the street as well, ive put about $600 into my braking setup and its paid for itself (dumb bitch)

I spent $1150 on a racing beat exhaust and a highflow cat.
I spent $400 on 4 kyb agxs
I spent around $500 on the racing beat full suspension kit
I spent around $40 for the dtss elim bushing
Use the left over money on tires and brakes
and maybe if you want s5 taillights?

goodluck

Where did you get the kyb agxs for $400? I'm going to need shocks at the end of the month and those are the ones I want.

As far as I'm concerned, the only mods you need to the braking system of a TII is good pads, and those are cheap. Even with the stock system and HPS pads its basically impossible to induce brake fade on the street unless you are trying. As long as you can still lock the brakes, they don't need upgrading.
The suspention setup in my sig cost 1100 or so, and you can get a nice full exhaust system for a similar amount. That leaves enough for an upgraded turbo, but not the supporting mods. If you can come up with a little more money you can use that for the supporting mods, or you could go with a slightly less comprehensive suspention setup, or a used exhaust system.
Another option is to keep the stock turbo for the time being and fix up the rest of the car to be in really nice shape. It depends on the condition of the car at the moment.

Working with $3000..

Stock car...with the idea of improving the car as a WHOLE, not one single aspect.

Turbo rebuild + wastegate porting $300 (turboblown.net)
GReddy 720cc secondary injectors $238 (rx7store.net)
Walbro 255lph fuel pump $100 (ebaymotors.com)
Apex'i AVC-R boost controller $400 (ebaymotors.com)
RTek 2.0 $399 (pocketlogger.com)
Racing Beat 3" Turbo-back exhaust: $789 (racingbeat.com)
Hawk HPS brake pads(4): $100 (rx7store.net)
Mazdatrix ABS delete kit: $34 (mazdatrix.com)
Mazdatrix SS brake lines: $84 (mazdatrix.com)
Full set of KYB AGX adjustable shocks $425 (racingbeat.com)
Racing Beat springs $240 (racingbeat.com)

This all equals out to be $3009. None of these include shipping, so it will probably be about $3200 to your door for everything, mainly because the exhaust costs quite a bit to ship.

Now remember, if your going to do one of these mods, DON'T! All of these mods work in conjunction with another, and without the multiple mods, you could have a big problem on your hand.

Don't get the exhaust without the ported wastegate, fuel pump, injectors, and RTek ECU. If you get just the exhaust, your engine will go pop.

Don't get the springs without the shocks or vice versa.

Don't get the brake lines without the pads, as the lines just help the pads do their job better.

:-D

This might be in the wrong derction. But I'd use 500 of that for advanced driver training. Like a BMW or Mercedes-benz driver school. A day on a skid pad sounds fun pluse upgrading your skill will be something that will work on all cars you drive.

Quality coilovers will cost $1300+...quality wheels will be $800+...quality tires..$300+...exhaust..$800..I'm pretty sure you went over the limit - by a lot...wastegate..$100+..

And you didn't list any kind of fuel cut defenser, nor fuel upgrades...sweet, my car has coilovers, wheels, tires, and exhaust..but it has a blown motor! Cool!

I like this list so far...I would however just get an MBC instead of the pricey $400 avc-r....you can get a good mbc for $50-$75, and alot even have a kit where you can run control for it to inside the car. Other than that...I'd probably not put $300 into the turbo unless it's already on its way out. I'd save it, and put it with the $300 you saved from not getting the avc-r and then you have about ~$600. use this $600 to buy a koyo radiator ($270 or so), and then put the other $320 into a FMIC... you can get a good core for about $150 (ebay...find the seller "delubozparts"..has good cores and a variety of sizes), and then buy a piping kit and there ya go...a good FMIC setup. I'd much rather have a FMIC than a $400 boost controller.

^^^ I can't justify getting an aftermarket intercooler on the stock turbo. Just doesn't seem worth it, to me. A good alcohol injection system is cheaper, safer, and won't cause increased boost lag / drop off at high RPM...

The stock turbo already has a pressure loss at high RPM's, adding an FMIC will just enhance the effect.

yes, but you have to have to add alcohol for it to work...if you're going to run more than stock boost levels....then the stop tmic is junk, and since most do...and most want to upgrade turbos...I was still go the fmic route...then maybe in the future swap out for a bnr..and then the fmic is already done....i just think that money is spent better elsewhere than a pretty boost controller.
