I have an 8" SAS sub wrapped in a bazooka tube and it sounds amazing. Fc's have awesome acoustics and you don't need anything too big. Better to go with a high-quality small sub-woofer setup than a big cheap subwoofer that will add more weight and be too loud.

Yea thats why I wanted to go with a L7 12" i herd it in a small compact car like the RX7 and it sounded really good...Its a bit more expensive but i liked how it hit just about every note perfectly...So theres no reason to have a cap if u do the big 3?and itll still do fine and not dim the lights?

OK, at the risk of sounding like an idiot... what is 'the big 3', exactly?

I'm doing the FD alternator upgrade, and bought 2 Fosgate P212 12" subs. Storage bins are leaving completely, and I'm setting it up so they will fire into the seat backs, not straight up.

We'll see if I get it done now or in the spring.

That's where I'm putting my mid-bass, but I think I'm going 6.5" there.

here, i dug up a pic of the fibreglass box i made that was molded into the form of the wheel well. it was my very first try with fibreglass and it is not the prettiest, but man did it sound good. 800 max power from each sub, and a 800watt rockford fosgate amp. mmmm...sounding good. too bad the car is long gone and the system too. with the cargo cover on, it was invisible.

now i have two working stock speakers in my TII and no cd player, it was stolen. but i have the wankel and turbo to listen to. that's almost as good.

most subs are to deep to mount in there. I tried, but hits the tower top.
maybe if you got some shallowed magnet structure ones you would be ok.

personally 8inch subs are a waist, better off just using them as woofers. I dont run any rear stage.

And i have no idea what big 3 upgrade is. but if you think Cap's are crap then good for you. obviously your not pulling the same current I am... (nearly 2000 wrms)

or your have a much better battery setup then I do. (eg multi 14v fork lift batteries etc)

i have one mtx 12" 350 RMS, and 300 wat amp. in a MTX box facing the rear hatch glass. it sounds damn good for a midgrade 12. i like it alot, and doesnt add a shitload of weight.

Im running 1.5 farad cap...with 1000watt RMS to 1 rockford fosgate t2 12"....right now its in a 1.25 cubic ft box that i made facing upwards towards hatch...ALOT of deep bass and shakes your chest...am in the process of making a fiberglass 45 dgree angle enclosure that will have the amp and cap molded into it...that fits in the space where the frame and storage boxes should be...will have pics when im done...oh and even with ALL my acc on (wipers, lights, heat on high) with the cap my lights dont dim and i stay above 12 volts even with powerful bursts with my stock 70amp...although i WOULD like to get an FD to be on the safe side and an optima again (thank god my **** is alarmed. noone F's with it lol)

i got a 1 farad cap with a JL audio 12w7. in the process of making a new box for it since i got a rear strut tower bar and the old one doesnt clear. i will post pics when im done.

an alarm would probably be a good idea, although my amp and cap are hidden behind the passenger seat.

I do, both towers actually, shitty subs, its not that great. I'm going to make a custom ported box for one if the bins with a small 8" for my next car, i'll have about 1 and half storage boxes for use.

I kind of had a similar idea like this, but i wanted to cut a hole in the front of the bin, (facing the seat) so you couldnt see it, and seal it. anyone else tried that?

I have a Polk Audio 12" Sub placed in my luggage compartment (Its a T2 S5 Coupè) pointing backwards angled about 20 degrees up, this makes the deafening rumbling bass less noticable and gives alot better Audio environment when it comes to balancing the lows against your mid/hi speakers. Ill post up a picture abit later

You could also mount a powered subwoofer made by Kenwood against the wall behind the seat. W/the seat in its normal position you won't see it and it's an easy setup to do.
