2+2????

I have seen a 2+2 a number of times behind the title of RX-7s. I have also seen it when talking about 300ZXs. But I don't know what it means? Can someone tell me. I did a search but it wouldn't let me because it isn't long enough.

2+2 means there are 4 people that can fit 2 in the front and 2 in the back but when you have just a regular coupe it only has 2 seats and storage bins where the back seats would be

It means it has 2 real seats and 2 really small seats. That's why they call it a 2+2 rather than a true 4 seater.

Yeah that means it has a back seat. Whether or not you can fit is your problem.

Is it true a two seater can have the storage bins removed and have the +2 seats put in by gutting a donor car?

The bins are more useful than the seats.

Can you do it the other way? put the bins in place of the seats?

Yes, but you will also need the fiberglass support structure.

All RX-7 (coupe) bodies are the same, so you can mix and match rear seat/bin options. For example, my car has a single storage bin since mine was originally a binless car.
