2+2
Refers to rear seats that fold down instead of cargo compartments in the rear.
It was OEM i believe in the 86-88 GXL and SE/base. It was a dealer option in all others, so don't be surprised if you see 91 Turbo II 2+2

Actually, they run the VIN through to get the quotes. The 2+2 was a rarely chosen dealer option. So, you'd have to talk to your insurance agent, I don't think it would vary that much though. Personally if I was an insurance agent i'd raise whoever had one of those 2+2's insurance. More people in a sports car that wrecks means more payout. Seems like 2 seaters would be cheaper
i have a 87 gxl 2+2 and i thought they only made the 2+2 in the gxl and se model not the turbo model
thats why i didnt want to buy a turbo because it was only a 2 seater and i wanted a 4 seater

There were both dealer and aftermarket kits for the FC to add rear seats, so could see it on any car.
Its my understanding that all the Japanese spec coupes were 2+2, as the japanese governement really frowned on 2 seaters back the earlier to mid eighties.

i had read that the reason that the 7 was a 2 seater in the us was because of crash safety that they added extra strengthener where the jspec cars had the rear seats, and now i find out that they could put rear seats in the car, but not int he turbo, so is the turbo a stiffer chassis or somethign?

The differences between the turbo and the coupe are strictly bolt on pieces such as the rear axle, and transmission.
