1990 Convertible

Has anyone else had a problem with the dash clips breaking on their 2nd. gen.? I've found a guy in Rock Hill, SC that sells a kit that'll fix the problem really easily, and it's fairly cheap too. He has a website: www.rx7world.com Hope this might help someone else too.... Does anyone know of a reasonable place that does exceptional paint work? I have a white 1990 Convertible that has a problem with the paint shipping off. Thanks in advance for your help....

I am not sure what you mean by broken dash clips, but I have not had good experiences with Ernest at RX7world.

Many S5 models and the 10thAE have had problems with the paint. Most of the time it will require removal of the old paint down to the metal and repainting if there are major amounts of paint pealing off.

Minor chipping however can often be filled with regular touch up paint.

I took the car to RX7world and had the window regulator & motor on teh driver's side replaced as weel as the switch for the passenger side window switch replaced. When I picked the car up, the airbag light was falshing the code "10". Could something have happened during those repairs to cause this? The guy that fixed this said no, but I need to know to satisfy my curiosity. When I asked him, his response was that these things are a money pit and I should be prepared to spend money on it. HELP!! If I had a lot of excess cash, I wouldn't have bought a 15 year old car!!!

on an Rx7 strange things occur, like you have problems, then they go away. I had a short one time that took me a year to find. It is common when you fix one problem for another to occur. I speak from owning 3 of these.

A pressure sprayer at the car wash will "Fix" your peeling paint problem!!! I fixed my deck lid up real good........then had it repainted. cost about $150 at the bdy shop. The hood is starting to do the same thing.
