exhaust stain on bumper

hey guys.

its now 3 months after installing my exhaust systme (downpipe/straightpipe/single exit straight pipe) --- and now i am seeing exhaust stains on my bumper above the muffler..

is there any cure for this (something to clean it off with) or is there anything someone or some company manufactures to prevent this????

thanks!

I found some stuff at the auto store called "bug and tar remover", made by Turtle wax I think.
It works on my car.

You'll have to worry about keeping the rest of the car clean also. Black is a pain to have but looks awesome when clean.

Make sure the bumper area above the exhaust tips is waxed well. Clean the soot with bug and tar remover (simple green is WAY too harsh) then use any paint clay to remove the remaining contaminants. Follow up with a good wax or paint sealant (mothers california gold, meguairs NXT etc..). The next time it's stained, it should be much easier to clean and probably wipe off with some quick detailer. If your stains are large, your car isn't running correctly.
