14s na

ok, not to beat a dead horse but i searched and didn't really find any good info on this and got sick of wading. so, i have a 91 gxl. i was wondering what it will take to hit the 14's. i'd prefer to keep the motor stock until it pops then go streetport. right now i'm looking at an apexi cone filter, replacing the stock intake plumbing with metal tubing, and an rb exhaust. anyone using an afc to perfect the a/f ratio? any other freebie/l'cheapo mods?

I agree. It took a streetport to get my much lighter GSL-SE into the 14's. It does (well did) have a much more restrictive intake manifold design as well.

I disagree. Im seeing 15.3 now and the only thing ive done to the motor is ported the intake manifold. It would take alot of mod but I'm sure you could do it. But it wouldnt be cheap though.

.

I believe that GLHS hit 15.3 this past weekend with an NA on the strip. I cant remember exactly but I am pretty sure. And he too hasn't ported his engine either. If I am correct I believe that he has over 300,000 miles on his engine too (ahhh the wonders of premixing ur gasoline). PM him and ask him.

Hey BDoty311,
What did you do about your 5/6 ports?

Also what pullies are in your under/over pully set?
I just got a 88 GTU and am about to look into pullies.
I kinda want to keep a/c(or atleast be able to hookl it up when suimmer comes) cause I'm in AZ and it gets pretty damn hot in the summer.
Also keeping my power steering would be nice.

Plus its an S5 which is heavier too.

Without N2O I think you'd need to strip the hell out of the car.

thanks guys. i'm trying to get a feel for the potential of the car without getting too crazy. i'm trying to get the acceleration close to that of my wrx. 14.6ish. looks like i'm going to have to wait for a streetport though. i also need to do a little research on the throttle body boring.

I want to see a time slip of a N/A running 14.6.

You can't do much more than I have and still remain as a stock engine.

I am getting 15.30 @ 93.06. Granted I spin the tires for quite a while, some say a full second or better. So the car is faster, just doesn't hook up. But it runs what it runs.

I have never raced a 2nd gen faster than this, nor have I ever seen one go faster than this on a stock engine.

just cause you think your car is maxed out at the track doesnt mean others are, driver skills are a big important thing. i saw the slips of the 14.6, no lie and on the stock motor, no porting.

When you say suspension setup.. what exactly do you mean?

Its basically stock with some custom work done to it, to make it solid.

I am talking about 1/4 times...
