$1k to spend
Hey, need some help. I have $1k to spend on upgrades on the car and want to hear opinions from you guys. Here is what I have. 88 turbo II, with 70k on the original motor (running perfect). I also have 3 inch ssac exhaust, walboro 255 fuel pump, 750cc injectors ready to be put on and a hybrid s5 turbo and mani. Here is the dilemma, I am planning on an ecu upgrade rtek 2.0 or megasquirt (thoughts on these, what do you guys think is the better option). Ebay intercooler (what size is recommended), pipes and bov. And some kind of mbc, I have read good things about turbo xs and joeP mbc. I am open to any type of suggestions.

Engine management... kind'a pointless to have 750s without it as JRat said. 1k isn't very much though, so you'll have to go piggyback unless you're a damn lucky/good shopper.
A hybrid turbo won't require a very big intercooler.. but you might consider getting a kit that is already made for the car (eg: Greddy, HKS, etc) so you don't have to worry about figuring out how to get it to fit. A Greddy 2-row will do the job easily, it's worth the 1000 bucks.

buy a power neo and pay me 900 dollars to install it
Seriously though, a good suspension setup will be a very nice addition to any 7 (that doesn't already have one) The car will have a night and day difference handling wise....much more of a noticeable differece than a couple more ponies.

agreed, I just want to figure out if RTek is a better route to go or megasquirt. 400 for the RTek or 525 for the MS.

jejejeje. Like I said before, I am going in stages and goal oriented for this car. The difference in hp I am hoping for it to be more than a few ponies, the car is running at 6 psi.

Rtek won't allow you to remove the AFM and doesn't have all the capabilities of the Megasquirt. On the other hand, I actually have the ZEMS megasquirt on my N/A, and i've found it difficult to tune myself. I'm going to take it to a shop. Your car will run a lot better out of the box with an Rtek but the megasquirt can do more.

I would buy an Rtek 2 and save the rest of the money to buy coilovers.
I have a friend that drives a bone stock s14 except for his suspension and he can easily keep up with my brothers lightly modded FD in the canyons. So unless your drag racing hp doesn't mean as much.
