I plan on fixing it, I just don't know where to start. The Haynes manual is next to useless and it's way too cold outside to fumble around with wires for hours looking for a loose one or a bad ground or whatever. I plan on fixing it when I can. I just thought it was funny how it only came at certain times.

 

I've got the same problem with my fuel gauge. I haven't had a chance to pull out the fuel pump and take a look at the sending unit though.

 

What? In what model RX-7 is there an error code beeper? S5s have a check engine light which can be made to flash to allow you to read codes and S4s will allow you to check error codes if you jumper a lamp into the code checker plug under the hood. I've never heard of the feature you're referring to.

Mine does that but it sounds like my heater vents are whisting. It's gotta be ***** cold outside though.


Um, i have to idle mine with my foot til warmed. then it idles around 500....where it's set by me to idle when it's warm. it does idle lumpy and on start up sounds like it's got anti lag or is bridge ported for a good 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Then it calms down.


Sometimes the speedo needle jumps like a depressed hobo on the San Fransisco bridge. Sometimes the tach needle does the same.


My exhaust hangars dont line up in some places and need to be cut off so any dips in the road and my passengers **** thinking the car is gonna break in half or something.

My clock doesn't work. sometimes it does and when it does, it's always 1:00.

Coolant gauge doesn't go past "slightly warm"

Oil temp gauge doesn't work b/c nothing is hooked up to the sender.


Whatever. I'm just glad it runs and i can play with it.

I've gotten the weird noises behind my gauges on cold days on both of my FCs. Sounds like there's a squirrel in there trying to scratch his way out. Goes away when it's warmed up, or on the next warm day. Kinda funny; it must be common.

like most fc owners i have really wacky idle and other times it idles perfectly at 800 rpm. and this is between stoplights on the same road. another is when my ex started acting super bitchy my car always ran like **** until we broke up. and it ran even better when i renamed her something other than my exes name. but then that motor blew up after we staryed talking again. lol. and i have the door not closing unless slammed problem with the passenger door. and she likes to chew up alt/ waterpump belts for no reason at all. i checked everythin out and theres nothing that seems to cause it. and my hatch opens fully by itself like it should whenever the hell it feels like haha. i love that my car has a crazy personality of its own. i think she'll like the 30k mile engine thats about to go in her though. she like when i buy her new things lol

 

Sometimes my car runs well. Its weird.

 

my clock used to start up at 1:00 all the time............... now it starts at 0:53
beyond that my car alarm goes off if the battery goes dead.

 

I won't even discuss idle.......

my seat belt light comes on at random times, even with the belts fastened.

faint door ajar beeping. sometimes.

squealing when cold, like others have mentioned. i checked all belts, and greased all the pulleys. still squeals when cold.

low fuel light never comes when driving. only at start. (and yes i have ran the tank damn near empty)

hatch release works 75% of the time.

heater takes 15-20 mins to warm up.

massive vibration from 2400-3000 rpm.

 

My FC's engine pulsates in cold weather but once it's warmed up it runs fine

my passenger door refuses to unlock. she has a fuel cut AGAIN "somewhere". so if i hit a big bump it wants to stall. she hates to start in the morning and the add **** buzzers keep goin off lol
car "add coolant" "add oil"
me "**** you bitch!!! i just put oil and coolant in you yesterday!!!"
but normally i give the dash a little love tap, then rub where i smacked it and it stops hahaha weird huh???.... yea... its a love hate relationship, but when im sliding around the curves we both love each other lol..

damn.. i guess shes just like a girl... in a weird mechanical way...

 

oh.. and no heat.. lol sucks reaaallllyyy bad! because lately its been as cold as santas nutt sack around here

 

Lets see, clock works when it wants and is always off by like 32 minutes,passenger hatch lock doesnt really lock fully , shift up light comes on randomly..then too top it all off yesterday while waxing her she started cranking over all by her damn self..no key in the ignition ,thought the fc was haunted for a sec ,but come to find out my relay burned out which somehow caused it to do that

 

my fc makes my money disappear, one minute its in my wallet the next its gone, i have a feeling where its going
