Just Sunday on the way to a photo shoot my clock said 12:30, I looked down and when I looked up again it said 9:15, I was hoping I had traveled the space time continuum because I was going around 88 mph but alas it was 12:32
yea that lock tube spray works like a charm... only if its not in the car

I just thought of another odd one: Every now and then when I have the headlights on, the clock will gradually fade to black, but not reset to 1:00. In other words, when it eventually comes back to full brightness, the time is still correct. If this was the typical cold solder joint thing, I'd think the clock would reset itself to 1:00. At least that's what my previous FC used to do.
There's a couple solder joints that like to go out in the clock.
There's a constant 12V for retaining the time.
There's a switched 12V to light up the clock when the ignition is in the ACC or ON position.
There's an illumination 12V to dim the clock when the lights are on.

So long as you have the first one, the clock will keep correct time.

Good to know. Now I guess I have a re-soldering project to entertain me on a boring winter evening...

hehe, funny thread.

althought I only have a Flux-capacitor in my Delorean, the 7s clock does mysterious time travels.
It changes hour and minute randomly, sometimes it dims and comes back with another time.
I already opened the idiot cluster and checked all the solder joints, and I was surprised, they did look very clean to me, only a very few needed help

Speakers sometimes tend to go out and on again. I once read in a post that there is a relay responsible for that problem ...

Last month on a drive to work the engine did lost all the power and shut itself down, and left the driver thinking his engine had lost an apex seal.
50 sec later it startet right up and never did that again....

Throttle cable was once stuck at WOT due to the alternator plug which
lowered itself between the gap that opened on the omp rod system.
Running at 110 in an 90 zone still accelarating like mad at 5000 rpm.
Finally pushed the clutch and shut down the engine ... Just to find
3 minutes later another FC owner stopping at the side of the street ...
We had a chat and finally I found the plug and layed it in a way it wont interfere.

My 7 has a weird wiper system, I once wanted to replace them but I had no clue how to remove them
or even what connection system they use.

ohh and the best of all is the rear spray nozzle for the window. It sprays up in the air when activated
(almost 45 degree) and gives the car behind it at the stop a load antifreeze for free ...
Very funny with friends in the car ... lmao

my driver's side map light wont work unless i tap it a few times.
my windshield washer fluid light used to work properly, until i took a highway on ramp at about 70. now it constantly stays on, no matter the level of fluid.
sunroofs keep dieing in my car. this is my second one, getting tired of pulling the headliner and all the plastics. haha
one of my speakers (right rear) keeps going out randomly, ive also rewired that.
my car used to idle like a dream at 750 rpm. after it almost overheated from blowing a coolant line it wont go lower than 1500 no matter what i do to it. the idle screw is turned all the way low. plus i have the bouncy idle syndrome, but no vac leaks.
and my drivers side headlight opens and closes slower than normal, however the passenger one works fine.

But i still love this car!

Me e-brake light randomly comes on. Sometimes for 2 seconds, sometimes for 2 weeks...

It sometimes randomly loses power when I shift and I have to shift out of then back into gear to get power back.

The seat belt light on the idiot cluster goes on and off all the time. It's been like that for years so I'm not really concerned with it. Just recently, the seat belt buzzer will continue to sound until I turn my headlights on. My car also has had a hell of a starting problem for about a year now.

My power steering sensor gives me the beepies when the car isn't warm, and usually stays off whenever I'm driving around, but anytime my girlfriend gets in the car it starts the beeping right back up again.

I didn't realize there was any kind of audible warning system for the power steering. I thought the only cause for beeping was low coolant or revving beyond the redline.

I got a nice list for you

-The buzzer goes off when turning hard to the right... sometimes.
-The illumination in my dash works now and then, even when turned off.
-The window motors didnt work. I took them out, didnt work. Gave up and put them in, they worked.
-My alarm goes off now and then, without any reason. Also, it doesnt go off sometimes when the light is constantly on. It only turns itself off when I unlock the passenger door. Time for power locks yay!
-When I brake hard, coolant come out of the expansion tank and over the hood somehow (no leak or anything, and no heat problems)
-My diff acts like an open, clutch, torsen and viscous. It might slip on dry asphalt, and not on ice.
-My illumination in the dash wont work when I got the fuse for the clock and electric mirrors.
-I cant open the spare tire compartment, it is stuck (vert)
-I get the stop warning light when I brake, even though all my braking lights are working.
-My fan shroud tends to take suicide by jumping in the fan. It never succeeds. Too bad, electric fan inc!

Thats all I think. Let me have the car another year and I can double it

mine over heats, but ONLY when the sun is out.

60F and sunny = runs hot

80F and cloudy = normal temps

i know the radiator is not so hot, it sat for 12 years, but the overheating doesn't have anything to do with temp!

Replace your radiator
And replace with better fan and coolant
And make sure it's cycling with enough pressure
It's not just temp of the air u have to worry about ( outside moisture ) ( asphalt temp )

If your running ur car in cloudy weather and it's not running hot but it's still hot out is that clue

Cloudy weather dosnt affect the pavement near as much so u don't have to look at thermals coming off of the ground

Ever heard of cooking an egg on the side walk ???
U can actually do this wen ther is a lot of sun heating the ground
It's not cuz it's that hot out side it's cuz the sun has heated the ground that much

It seems like a lot of the little quirks mentioned in this thread could be fixed with a minimum of work...

There are only three things my car does now that are a little annoying... That I can remember right now.

1. Some times when I turn the key in the ignition, it won't do anything. Other times there is a slight delay before it begins to crank, and some times it works perfectly.

2. Some times the only idiot lights that come on when the key is on but the engine is off, are the ones that are active. Like when you start the car with the parking brake on, only the parking brake light comes on, when all idiot lights should come on.

3. The door ajar/multipurpose beeper only works on rare occasions. Some times when it's really quiet in the car, if I turn the key on I can hear it very very faintly...

Mines the same. I have a clutch switch issue, just gotta move the clutch a bit and it'll fire up.

Car won't cruise with my foot slightly on the pedal. It sounds like it has an engine brake. Very annoying and sometimes acts like I'm repeaditly stepping on gas pedal. And jerks hard. Any clues???

Yeah, this thread went from weird personality traits from our cars, to lazy car owners who don't fix their crap. This thread has definitely turned very boring.

My car asks me to take it apart for upgrades every few days. Is that weird?
