I hate that I like my fc so much. Lol. I have it for sale and the thought of it actually selling is terrifying.

This isn't an rx7 only problem but I hate how there is always something else I want to buy. Whether it be an RE hood vent or ifini seats. Guy can dream cant he?

I hate that the nut for the adjustment pulley on the AC belt is 23mm and doesn't have enough clearance from the fan shroud to get a breaker bar in there.

I also hate that on the driver's side of the eccentric pulley there's a perfect hole, say about the size of a 3/8 drive 14mm socket. But there isn't a hole on the other side, or a way to get underneath it. But I'm not bitter or anything...

All in all, I have to say I'm loving my 7. I got it out of the blue after searching for a car for about 8 months. My aunt pretty much gave me an almost perfect '90 GXL for $500, since it has a reconstructed title after the driver's front quarter panel got in a tangle with a deer and lost.

As for the car being 18 years old now; it's still the first car I've had that's younger than me

the age of the car is expected with every car lol.

Wish the gauge cluster lights where illuminated from behind the gauge faces like in Nissan, easier to do custom lighting like bright white LEDs etc.

Id prefer a multilink rear suspension, all my prior cars had it. Just think its easier then what the FC has, FC is a little funky, even some people prefer to remove the rear sway bar.. Do not like DTSS or all the 4ws systems that simular cars had from the era.

I do find Verts very attractive compared to other offerings of that era and still look good today. You see verts on the road and its pretty rare.

I HATE HATE the engine and when you rebuild it, all the lil seals cost soo much money. $250 for 6 small pieces of steel [apex seals] so expensive,,

I just love it when its running right

lol that's funny. I dont have small asian children fingers and i'm asian.

A swivel extension/socket will do for the slave.

And that's why Mazda makes a special tool. There is actually a tool available that uses the flywheel ring gear for torque multiplication. A small gear on the ratchet meshes with the ring gear and rotates a lever which undoes the flywheel nut. Expensive though...

Keep in mind that the big nut was the only way to accomplish attaching the flywheel. Otherwise the end of the shaft could never pass through the stationary bearing.

likewise slave cylinder is very easily placed on the side or more towards the bottom of the transmission. not sure why mazda put it up top. protecting it? maybe a more direct clutch feel?
Don't know. Mazda has shifted the starter location and clutch slave position several times. I think that they just kept the slave location in place, not realizing that as intake manifolds became larger, the slave was no longer easily accessible. On the previous carbureted rotary setups, the slave was easy to get to.

Damn skippy. The transmission and diff mounts area huge "WTF?" compared to the rest of the car.

Mazda put a bit of research into those little bits of steel. In fact, they bet the company on it. Unlike something like say, the Chevy 350, rotary parts are produced in much smaller quantities so the economy of scale does not work in our favour. But think of it this way: while a set of apex seals costs $250, you don't have to:

-perform valve jobs
-replace valve seats
-deal with timing chains/belts
-machine heads
-machine block
-bore/hone cylinders

...when you rebuild a rotary.

Precisely. Rebuilding a rotary isn't that expensive compared to rebuilding a piston engine of similar condition. If you're within specs, you can get away with nothing but a soft seal kit.

I HATE how my engine is made fun of because rotaries "just blow up" all the time.

I HATE how I get condescending looks when pouring 2 cycle oil into my gas tank.

I HATE how the FC is looked down upon by the local 240's and Hondas. Seriously. It makes me laugh.

At least to the point where you can no longer run the motor.

Well, it's a true story.

My first car was an S13 Coupe and I looked down upon FCs.

Now that I actually have one, I've been dissed on by both 240s, AND a local Honda street team for a lack of displacement. Yeah. Honda drivers made fun of *me* for low displacement. It's not hearsay. My "drift skills" have also been challenged. I've had someone come up in a Shitsufeces Eclipse with a bigass wing and kit claiming that he's won events in Seattle and that he can drift FWD better than I ever can with RWD.

I'm not even a drifter, I prefer grip racing, where the **** to people get this **** that just because you drive FR means you have to drift it...

those people just sound retarded.. lol
Average Joe Smoe street racer guys dont know ****. The typical superstreet readers. The bastards that prefer to live their car tuning life like a movie and challenge everybody. Those are the guys that ruin the import tuning scene.

theres still alot of people who respect the rx7, esp the 240sx crowd.. Usually internet forum people will be a little more respectful in my opinion.

It really doesn't bother me anymore. I'm not competitive, and I have nothing to prove.

I enjoy my car, I enjoy my engine, it's fun and that's all that matters.

I hate the fact that when you mention rotary engine to people, they ask stupid questions about pistons, valves, and cams. Not to mention, they cost a fortune to work on.

I think it's silly- "hate" would be too strong a word- that the bin/glove box lighting only works when the lights are on.

I dislike- OK, we're approaching "hate" here- that so much of the switchgear is visually identical, yet series specific. This also applies to various subsystems- cruise control would be an example- that are different for no apparent reason.

I wish the seat mounts were the same and that the passenger side wasn't so weird.

I wish the cabin fuse box was in a more accessible location.

I wish the Logicon didn't have that one long connector that threads all the way to the windshield.

Ha, that's funny! It's not just Honda owners, but may car enthusiasts are douchebags. Now I'm not the least bit interested in a Honda with a fart can, but come one, I don't make fun of those people (to their faces anyway).

I had the same issue with the local car "clubs" and Honda kids making fun of my rotary. "Those always blow up...they don't make torque...they sound weird...". So early this summer I drove my car down to one of their local meets, parked in the corner, raised my hood and then walked away. Yeah, I'm a bastard.

Doesn't even matter. They see that huge turbo and crap themselves.

My issues...

*Stupid car alarm goes off 5 minutes after I lock my doors

*Driver side door handle on way out...

*Crack in windshield getting bigger from coilovers

That's about all...I love my car and it's very reliable. I get a lot of respect from most people, but I still get the usual "****'s gonna blow an apex seal" from some, mainly my friend who is a DSM guy.

-I hate that almost everything I can buy for my FC is illegal here.
-that I have to import everything from japan or the us
-that the gas gauge always goes down so fast (gas mileage)
- ~3000rpm cold start !!!
-noises when driving over bumps !
-heavy stock flywheel (S4)
-stock steering wheel (S4)
and that I have no idea why I sometimes just can't enjoy driving my fc.
