Yeah, exactly like a V6

Really? Did you come up with that cause it fires 6 times per rotation? Other than that, please explain to me why you say this. Or why its not like an inline 6? Or any similarities at all?

Does that make a 20B like a V9?

Rotaries just can't be compared to your average piston engine, because they're designed to have way less rotating mass. So IMO, putting them closest to the boxer style engine.

because it has three chambers per rotor so it does the same job as a 6 cylinder..its the easiest way to explain it to people who dont know, if you say 4 cylinder, its wrong because rotors do more work then 4 cylinders per rotation

and a boxter engine is just a flat piston engine, nothing else is really different

but you cant really compare a rotor to any 4 stroke engine

and it actually fires 9 times per rotation of one rotor

Not that I want to get into some big debate, but one rotation is 360 degrees. so if one rotor rotates 360 degrees, by the physics of the universe it can only fire three times.

And I agree about not comparing them. And the reason i threw in the boxer engine, and why they designed it that way, is because it has less rotating mass, kinda like having a giant gyroscope as an engine. Its not like the rotary, but is more similar.

well you would be right about that if rotors only had one spark plug per rotor but they have two so therefore it would fire 6 times per rotation

BUT

what some people dont fully understand, or forget, or just dont know, is that one of the reasons we have two plugs per rotor is because we use whats called a waste spark system for a better, and more full burn, as well as to propel the rotor in the proper direction, because of this the the sparkplugs combined actually fire 3 times

i believe the order is leading, trailing, leading..

there was a thread somewere about this as well as a a couple 3D images of it

Which obviously just burns the unburnt gasses, has nothing to do with this.....

When I say fire, I'm saying it takes oxygen, compresses it with fuel, and is ignited, causing power. Thats what I'm sayin. So yeah, the only thing that is similar is that a 6 cylinder (not solely a V shape or inline) and 2 rotor fire six times per rotation. The end.

uhhh...people with terminolgy...its called a cycle that your refering too, and with that, yes you are correct...as for the position, people say v6 because the vast majority of the population can refer easier to the v with 6 and 8 cylinders. and the i formation is more accustomed to the 4 cylinder...

but regardless its rather foolish to correct someone on something so minimal as him using the term "v" in his 6 cylinders

Lol, if you squint really hard you can kind of see a resemblance. But it's quite a stretch

I'm getting straight pipes on my car next week and today i came out of the exhaust shop and jump in my car and a guy says to me "Your putting straight pipes on your Rx7?!?!?!?!?!?" I said sure am. So then he went on to tell me that Rx7s with straight pipes are screaming loud and i said i know. Then he also went on to tell me how many flames I'm gonna get and that i will probably get tickets and on and on. I stood there and then he got in his Honda with a fart can redlined it and tried to dump the clutch and it stalled. It was hilarious. The owner of the shop then comes out and informed me of the laws on Pa exhaust which to my shock there is NO decibel limit in PA all i can get is $25 for disturbing the peace.

Well, aside from the funny with his Honda, he's correct. NA RX-7s with straight pipes are obnoxious. Turning a 'Vert into a horrible chainsaw-sounding thing for 2 more horsepower seems weird.

its not for the HP gain in the short run. Its for sound right now and functionality when the TII motor im rebuilding goes in. Plus i cant justify $600+ for an apexi n1 setup just because i think a vert should stay duals.

Not so much about my FC, but my license plates. My Illinois plates say "NO PSTNS" (see my avatar). Obviously, the IL Sec. of State would make it easier if they'd give me one more letter, but I digress. Some kid comes up to me and asks "What does 'No Pee Stains" mean?" I said "I used to be a bed wetter, but recently was cured".

Plus the fact that the N1 is almost as obnoxious as a straight pipe without a muffler. Duals of course is the only answer. RB REV II all the way.

I remember when I first got my FC and went to the local rotary meet, one of the local guys, Cory, had a red FD with the license plate "NOPSTNS" Out of reaction without even thinkin I said, "What the hell is Nop Stains?" Little to say everyone gave me some ****. Thought that was funny, cause even someone who should've known, still didn't see it immediately.

I think the funniest thing I have encountered was a guy arguing with me unitll he was red in the face about how some of the FCs were special edition twin turbo models with 450bhp. He also explained how mazda dropped the rotary engine for the third gens( which he referred to as FBs lol). Overall it was funny as ****.

Found this design running down a building. Had to share it, but didn't know the appropriate place. So I'll put it here. I can't be the only one who sees beyond the flowers
