guy came to look at my 10ae to buy it, he saw my black tii and said "You have best of both worlds an rx7 and supra, rotary and piston"

Im not an ***, so i told him it is an rx7, its just lowered so it looks like a supra. ha

 

I was at a tire shop getting some rubber mounted and one of the mechanics comes out to talk about the 7. He was driving an RX-8 and said he had an 88 T2 at home.
We BS'd a little, he asked if I had any mods, I said, "Not much," and lifted my hood.
He was telling me all the stuff he's done to his T2 and the plans he had for the car.
I told him about a local meeting spot and invited him to bring the T2. He seemed very interested.

Then I went inside to talk to the manager about mounting my tires. I mentioned the other mechanic being a fellow rotor head, and the manager said,
"Ya, so I guess he told you about his busted RX-7 with the blown motor?"

I laughed so hard, and said, "He failed to mention it was blow, but ya, I heard a lot about it"

had a guy askme how much i paid for my supra a couple of weeks ago...

 

Just this afternoon, I had my FC towed to my school to get some work done over there. My manual transmissions instructor looks the car up and down and walks over to me.

Mark: So when did you get this?
Me: Last October.
Mark: 'Cause I think I worked on this a long time ago, back when it was still on its first motor.
Me: Yeah, I'm told that this thing is the Orchard Park Town *****.

An hour later, one of the other students walked over and started asking questions. He was one of those diesel enthusiasts and does a lot of plowing during the winter.

me: Yeah, it's a rotary engine. 1.3L turbo.
guy: Wait, so how many cylinders does it have?
me: None.
guy: So where do the pistons go?
me: Doesn't use pistons. It uses two rotating-
guy: Wait, so how can it run if it doesn't have pistons?

So I walk over to our shop computer and bring up an animation on how it works. He just kinda watches it for a few minutes before shrugging.

guy: So, it rotates like that?
me: Yep.
guy: So where do the valves go?

At this point I didn't want to embarrass the guy, so one of the instructors helped explain it to the small crowd we had eventually gathered around my car. Turns out his dad had an old FB with a Holley 650 on it. At the end of the day, I ended up convincing two guy to start looking for FC's and the diesel kid thinking of dropping one in a Neon. All in all, a good day.

Yeah, cause at the end of the day, you're still driving a Neon. No amount of boost or body modifications will ever change that.

 

orchard park huh? that would be only the third or fourth turbo fc that i have seen here in the buffalo area.

 

Yup, but the body makes me feel ill sometimes, what with some of the rust spots. Working on it at ECC in hopes it'll fire up. I've seen only 3 FCs, not counting mine. I know there's a guy with a S4 N/A a few blocks away. This area just sucks for rotaries.

 

went and test drove a gtu on monday and the guy posted that the motor was rebuilt and has 30xxx miles on it so i went and test drove it
me- do you have any paperwork on the rebuild
him- i dont believe i do

Whats up , anyway about a month ago i registered my car as i was standing in line this guy had a civic wagon -sleeper , suspension 1st gen B motor whatever it was not bad .so i told him about my car and he said he like to check it out one day . so just this pass tuesday i pull into a auto shop i get my battery and there goes the honda dude out side .He did not look my way for a second as i turn the car on , THAT BRAP , BRAP sound must of intimidated him ! What a HATER !

 

i have a lil honda piston hangin off one of the back hooks on my car and one guy at a light once told me... "hey man i think you just blew your engine!, you got a piston hangin off the back"

one time while waiting for my sister to get off work so i could drive her home (2am in the morning). couple drunk guys standing outside the club

I took a buddy for a ride in my race car GTUs. Many comments were said, but the one that stuck in mind was, "This thing is ******* super horny!"

 

never got a skyline comment but Im RHD also. I get those stares too

 

I think the staring problem just comes with owning a FC. Pretty much anyone that's outside when I drive by mugs the **** out of me until im out of sight.



Was at a little car meet a few weeks ago. I was talking to some friends when this guy and a few of his buddies came over.

Him - "Yo bro, nice 7, pop the hood. I got one at home just like it. Turbo"
Me - "Oh yeah? What all do you have done to it?" as I'm going to pop the hood.
Him - "DAMN DOG! I ain't never seen a turbo that looks like that!" point at my carburetor to all his buddies.

At this comment, I really didn't want to explain. I just started the car. Because I have a Holley with no filter and a straight pipe for a exhaust, the car sounds... throaty? Pretty much it sounds like its fast as FAWK but it's really just a slow n/a 7.

This guy and his buddies are all amazed. I'm enjoying the attention my car is getting so I start pulling on the throttle a little bit to warm up the exhaust. I tell the guy and his buddies to go check out the exhaust of the car. As their getting to the back side of the car, I rev it up and pop a nice big flame. 4 of the 5 guys took off thinking it was gonna blow up. The last guy as he's leaving says "bro, that **** doesn't sound like its running right. I think you just blew something..."

I give him the thumbs up, hop in my car and take off.

 

I still love the crazy looks and comments I get when I put oil in my gas to premix.

"Boy, I said boy! Your oil ain't s'posed to go in there!" I laugh every time, honestly.

I think my favorite story with my Seven though was when the Honda Civic wanted
to race me. This guy just wouldn't take a hint. He saw me driving down the road,
all nice and slow. This guy was in some shitty riced out loud as all hell Honda that
he kept driving up next to me, revving the crap outta his lil four banger POS, pulling
up a couple yards and slowing down next to me.

Well the moron musta been doing this for ten minutes, I got some nice stuff on my
car and I'm sure it looks a lot faster than it is, he musta wanted a good racekill story
outta me, how his wonder honda ate a seven. **** him. Well this guy started making
me pretty angry buzzing all over the place, you can tell he was a shitty driver. We came
to a stop light and the guy was along side of me again, he slammed his brakes and
swung in behind me at the last minute. The guy was probably only a few inches from
hitting me.

This guy starts revving the crap out of his engine behind me, again. So I leaned out my air
a bit, and dumped it. I must have shot a good foots worth of burning gas out of the exhaust.
As I was pulling away from the light I saw the guy jump out of his car, and was trying to
put out a small fire I'd lit on his bumper. I doubt he got it out in time it was pretty much
combusting raw 91 octane. If your reading this you douche, I hope your ******* bumper
melted off, buy a real car and keep it on the track.

I took my good friend's car up to Mazsport many years ago to get a quick free compression check. Scott was a good friend of mine till he got real shady..anyways,Scott pulls the plugs and proceeds to stick his little finger in the leading plug hole for rotor #2 and says to me..This engine is not ported...

I was like damn Scott didn't you hear it when we drove up.., besides that I ported this engine myself just a few years ago. He said thats impossible..

Then went I first met Scott Glassburn in 99. He proceeded to tell me my RX7 which I got brand new in 1988, did not have the original enigne and it was not possible to get 350,000 miles out of one..I lauhged so hard, he got pissed and challenged me to a drag race, since we were in the pits at the track at the time. I soundly beat his T2 with my N/A..I told him its all about the juice baby...He said I wasn't possible being his T2 was 400 hp...I said Scoot you ***, we just raced wasn't you there? He said yeah, but I wasn't racing....I am like WTF...you challenged me...what a tool!!! He still is too...
