Back on topic here, someone actually said I must get really good gas mileage for driving an N/A T_T

 

I was asked if my car was an FD (kid was looking at it). He said hes only asking because I dont have a hood scoop. I look at him and said I have an N/A FC, FD's dont come with hoodscoops but turbo FC's do. He says im wrong and the white FD from initial D looks just like mine and it has a hood scoop. I laugh and walk away shaking my head.

 

I get that a lot too.

 

funny stuf you guys.... I just parked the car... the sun was going down and my wife and I were walking into taco bell... I parked next to this datson 510 all beefed out... and some old guy was talking to this chick.... as I get out of the car, this guy is explaining the this girl about my car and how nice it is... now, I didnt say anything cause it was flattering...

Unitl he yells out as I walk into the taco bell, "nice porche buddy.... "

I just laughed and walked in.... but as I walked in my wife turns to me and says... "porche, I thought you had an rx7?"

Priceless!

Dousche- Nice RX-7, my buddy had one of those! Its got an inline 6 turbo, yeah?
Me- No its a rotary
Dousche- So is that 4 cylinders?
Me- No, its a rotary, it has 2 rotors, no pistons, no cams, no valves
Dousche- (interupts with a smirk) pssh! everycar has pistons and cams, you must not know anything about your car!
Me- okay.... (turn around and fill my gas, and laugh to myself)

I totally would've explained it, I was about to pop my hood, but his little statement gave me no reason.

Its okay, I've had to explain probably like 10 times how a rotary works to my girl... although she's not into cars! She screams her head off during AutoX! Let alone mountain runs. Barely even rides in my car, she says it smells too much like gas.

 

this is mine i had an s5 and i used to go to the hangout around town quite often and my car was stock from what i know of other than the rb headers and the custom exhaust. kid with an rx8 told me what cams are you using. i looked over my cousing i was shocked. and i followed and told him i have a z06 cam but you have to cut them in half so that they can work for our motors the kidd right on the spot asked e for my number and addres so i can help him install it he called me 2 weeks laters with a z06 cam saying what now. ( i almost died when i got that phone call )

car was outside and i was leaving (with car running lol). guy pulls in,

"an 89"
"that thing still runs? damnnn"

I was at a local parts store getting my alternator tested, when an old guy came up and asked what kind of Cadillac it was.

I looked at him for a moment in stunned silence, thinking I've heard the Porshe line, but Cadillac? Told him it was a Mazda, and he did the stunned silence bit and walked off.

 

ok ive been reading and just to add my 3 cents or what ever the type r's are fast dont get me wrong there is a guy at my school with 3 of them the real ones how ever even though the 7 na is slow the handling is better but you make a good point the type r is fast but how many integras on the street are type r? not a lot i believe him when my car was na i raced a type r and he beat me but he didnt just smoke me i was right on the side of him and he was a good drive (it was my friend) but the s4 turbos have the same amount as a type r well 5 more horse power and sorry to say but the type r is not beating the s4 trubo 7 ive seen to many loose....but to say that the type r is better than the is300 now i have a problem with that sorry but your giving integras to much credit and there good race cars but there not all that

NO the s4 turbo had from the factory a rated hp of 182 . And the 97 ITR came from the factory with a rated hp of 195 . So how do you get that it has 5 hp more than the ITR ? I'm no genius but even I know 182 is not better than 195. also the ITR has a power to wheight ratio of 12 lbs to 1 hp . and the s4 TII has 15.7 lbs to 1 hp so it still loses there so I'd say race again and tape it so everyone can see

 

And we were refering to an N/A FC racing the integra. Also an integra type r will handle better than our cars. My FC has front and rear strut braces, sway bars and tein coilovers in it and i have been in a teg type r and they handle very similar. And they type R's should be light, they come with no a/c there isnt even an option and they remove all the sound deadener etx

 

try driving a right hand drive RX7. Its almost everyday that someone has to say something to me about my car.

"I bet its hard to go through the drive threw"

"you know your driving one the wrong side"

"did you import that"

"does that have one of them wankel engine"

I could go one forever but you get my point.

 

Integra vs. FC

I can't believe that anyone would believe that a 1986 car could out handle the technology of a 97 Type R. You must be very sheltered, or just plain so bullheaded you can't see the truth. Obviously the design of the Type R is eons better, it pulls way more G's. My buddy has one and we both do AutoX. His is completely stock, mine and 2 other FCs are heavily modified in suspension. That Type R is faster, it handles better than any FF available, the guy even spins out alot. So it oversteers more than understeers. Let alone its 1/4 mile is faster. A stock FC, S4-S5 N/A-Turbo, it doesn't matter, they are slower! Get over it!

Why does it even matter, its like sayin our car is faster than an F430, its obviously not, but its irrelevant. We own our cars for many reasons, one being the potential of our cars is almost endless, a fully tuned FC will be faster than a fully tuned Type R, Our mid-front engine placement, along with RWD and 50/50 weight ratio is what makes our cars amazing. I love my FC, and I could care less what is "faster" than me. Cause when we go to the mountains and I smoke there asses, they have no excuse. I'm prob. one of the slowest cars that I hang with, yet I'm in the top 5 fastest around our mountain, I love that its slower, it feels even better when I know my skills are better.

 

car technology hasn't really improved that much in the past 25 years i can see technology of 1986 to be similar that of 97 but of course that depends on the what cars your talking about.

 

yeah weren't the skid pad ratings of a s4 gxl almost the same as an s2000. car technology has really been focused on alternative fuels.

 

They still use technology on suspension, that they have used in the 60's, but that doesn't mean they can't perfect it. Look at a 88 integra compared to a 99, it'll handle way better. The reason the gxl could handle as good as the S2000, is because the S2000 is convertable. They have to design the chassis without the roof, compare the vert seven to the 2000, and you will see the honda handles better. That and the honda weighs, what, 1,000 lbs more!
